First Muslim Senator
Representing the 12th senatorial district of Mindanao and
Sulu from 1916 to 1919, and from 1922 to 1931. In the
Senate, he pushed for more appropriations for the
construction of schools, hospitals, roads, and bridges in
Mindanao and Sulu.
