Cyberbullying may not occur at school,
but the school's deal with the
repercussions (Notar, Padgett, Roden,
2013).
ISTE-S Standard 2b says students need
to behave in a positive, safe, legal and
ethical way when using technology,
including online interactions (ISTE-S,
2018).
ISTE-E Standard 3a says educator's
need to create experiences for students
to make positive socially responsible
decisions and show empathetic behavior
when online (ISTE-E, 2018).
It is our job to help teach students how to
act appropriately online even when not at
school.
Prevention Plan
Decrease or eliminate cyberbullying
completely (Giménez-Gualdo, Arnaiz-
Sánchez, Cerezo-Ramírez, &
Prodócimo, 2018).
Create awareness and educate
students on cyberbullying (Chisholm,
2014).
How to Create a
Prevention Plan
Research cyberbullying and how to
prevent it.
Role-Play on stopping cyberbullying.
Discussions about the topic.
Classroom meetings to talk about
peer relations.
Story or skit teaching bystanders how
to help (Stopbullying.gov, 2018).
