Amazing album. I'm 62 and as a lover of all kinds of music I've never heard one that sounded like
this. I keep a Top 100 list at all times and Loveless is my number 3 right after the Beatles Revolver
and Bob Dylan's Highway 61. Just heard it a few years ago. Damn! It's really a great LP! Love it.

No need to go on and on repeating what others have already stated. Simply put this is one of the
greatest and most influential records ever released. I’m a big fan of many different genres of music
(hip-hop, classic rock, metal, alternative, punk, etc) and this is still one of my favorite albums of all
time, and I’ve been listening to it for 27 years since the day it was released in 1991. Buy this and it
will change your life. It’s a grower and gets better and better with each additional listen.

Loveless is one of the top five most important albums to come into my life, actually probably the
most important. This album is hugely influential to the history of music and also to myself
personally. Being a guitar player and loving the instrument, I have never been so intrigued by the
sound of a guitar as I have been by Kevin Shields. What an innovator. Never have I heard noisy
guitar sound as good as this. It's absolutely gorgeous. Thick syrupy guitars, vocals that whisper like
they are buried behind fluffy clouds and an overall dreamy, psychedelic in a way, sound. This band
is just so important, and this album is simply one of the best ever. I would not need to go to
another concert in my life if I could see them live. It's a dream and if I had three wishes, one would
be to see My Bloody Valentine in concert. I do hope they tour again... If you appreciate music and
like to explore different types of music, please buy this album and give it a chance. It's a grower and
will become one of your favorites too.

Fantastic CD! For this review I will be describing the CD and the quality of it, as opposed to the
(fantastic) music it contains. The first disc is a very mediocre at best cut and is a very poor port. Disc
2 however, is the optimal version of this album (besides maybe the +$100 vinyl maybe). The music
sounds FANTASTIC and has a very pleasing range. The second disk allows for new, previously buried
sounds, to be heard in the mix and they sound better than ever. Please do yourself a favour and
buy this fantastic CD if you are considering it.

When I was in high school, Rolling Stone magazine published a guide they called "The Essential
200," a list of albums spanning the '50s to the mid-'90s. On that list, among many other albums I'd
one day call favorites, was "Loveless." I bought a CD copy of the album in college, in 1998, though it
would be years until I fully appreciated what I was hearing. It's probably the album I've heard -- and
thought about, and read about, and talked about -- more than any other. As remastered reissues
have become the thing over the years, owning an updated (read: louder) copy of "Loveless" seemed,
to borrow a phrase from RS, essential. This 2008 set offers a remastered original version as well as
a version of the album mastered from the 12-inch analog tapes, and truth be told, I can't tell much
of a difference. The analog disc does seem to have a "wider" sound, where the guitar(s) stretch out
over the tracks in places, but beyond that, I'm not sure. They both sound great. Can someone tell
me what I'm (not) hearing?

If your not that into music, and you're not willing to let an album grow on you, then this isn't for
you. You're not going to play this during a party, you're not going to put any of the songs on this
album on a mix tape labeled 'FUN'. This is pure, unadulterated noise that, in the minds/souls of
some translates into a raw, emotional, psychological experience. Either you love it, or you hate it.

I received this album over a year ago, from Amazon. I figured it was a good time for a new sound. I
had read about it in a few places, where it got enormous amounts of praise. I ordered it without
even listening. I guess I tend to give in to hype. I finally listened to it as I was embarking on an
evening walk through the streets of Leominster, MA. I had squeezed my dated portable CD player
into my jeans pocket.

It ended up being one of the best walks I ever took.

Loveless is one of the most beautiful, enigmatic, and unique recordings I have ever had the
pleasure to hear in my short life. To me, it is more than an exceptional shoegaze album. I believe it
trascends that genre as something completely peerless.

The first time I listened to this I kind of smiled and thought this is really not my cup of tea. Second
listen the screws in my head started loosening. Push on to my tenth or so listen and I was hooked !
I feel this album is like a drug. I am 63. I am not supposed to like music like this anymore. Addictive.
