SocK M - Social Klothing for Mobiles Sept 2010
Guide: Dr. Jignesh Khakhar, Jogi Panghal, Mayank Loonker, Ujjval Panchal - Ongoing
SocK|M - Social Klothing for Mobiles, is a conceptual model that is targeted at the privatization of our lives by networked
objects like the cellphone. The project banks on the natural affordances of cloth as compared to plastics and the inherent
social nature of clothes we wear. The larger concept revolves around the idea of developing clothes for mobile phones
instead of fixed and static covers and using these clothes to interface with the phone and its user’s primary usage, like
music, heavy calling etc. These clothes would be interchangeable and could be shared between people, much in the
same way as people share clothes and would provide an alternative way to interface with the phone. Clothes for heavy
calling and music were developed.
