Speech 2: Informative Speech Outline

The Individuality of Impact, By: Tiffany Yoast

Specific Purpose:

Our Audience will realize being a leader is more attainable than most people think.

Organizational Pattern:

We will use the topically organized pattern to showcase the different parts of
Leadership and individual impact of a person.

Outline:

Introduction:
Hook: We will be showing a video to define what most of the population sees as
leadership. It shows how you don’t have to be overly grand to be considered a
leader. “ ’I would like to see a raise of hands if you are comfortable with calling
yourself a leader.’ ‘For those of you who did raise your hand, being a leader
doesn’t mean changing the world, let us show you.’ “

Thesis: The individual impact of a person is unique to each and every individual
and it goes hand in hand with leadership.

Preview: The three points I will preview are:

1. What is Leadership?
2. Who can be a leader?
3. What can you do as a leader?
4. Individual impacts of real people

Body:
I. What is Leadership?

A. Someone to listen to
B. Someone who is helpful

II. Who can be a leader?

A. Introverts
B. Extroverts
 III. What can you do as a leader?

A. Create other leaders

B. Encourage others
C. Strengthen

IV. How you can impact an individual?

A. Look for the little things

B. Find your voice and help others
C. Be present minded and aware of surrounding circumstances

Review: Three important points I want my audience to remember

1. “Leaders don’t create followers”
2. Leadership doesn’t mean changing the world
3. Leadership is courage, strength to help others as you rise

Conclusion: We will show a video clip reviewing what leadership is, and what it can do.
Brendon Burchard gave a good example from his book. “ ‘Remembering what all
leadership is and contains is hard.’ ‘But Remember, I quote, “where there is no vision,
there is no leadership.” End quote. ’ “
