Step 1 Professional Growth Goal: To improve my teaching effectiveness in the School’s Greatest Area of
Need Subject and Indicators. The subject is Reading and the Indicators are Letter/ Sound
Identification, Phoneme Segmentation and Nonsense Words.
Standard 2: The teacher will deliver accurate content while involving students in learning activities.
Standard Indicator 2.1: Demonstrates core content knowledge to effectively maximize student
learning outcomes.
Step 3 Evidence of Professional Growth/Evidence of Student Growth (e.g., tools, samples, reports,
rubrics, forms, grade reports, agenda, minutes, portfolios, etc.
The following scores are baseline data for Letter Naming. All 4 areas (letter/sound identification,
phenome segmentation and non-sense words) will be assessed during Winter and Spring
benchmark.

Lesson plans and activities during ELA and ELA Intervention block focused on letter/sound
identification, phenome segmentation and non-sense words, that are aligned with the district’s
adopted curriculum recognizing the needs, learning styles, and performance of diverse
learners. Lesson plans and/or intervention activities for each of the Greatest Areas of Need in
Kindergarten ELA.
Assessments in which students are evaluated to show student growth and performance,
enhance knowledge of learners, and modify teaching and learning strategies.
