Title: Grace Schermerhorn Clothing Collection, 2008-2019

Abstract: Grace Schermerhorn is a 28-year-old library professional living in Morganton, North Carolina.
She loves clothes and has been acquiring and curating her wardrobe for over 10 years. This collection
includes her favorite unique and classic pieces from her wardrobe.

Creator: Grace Schermerhorn, 1990-

Biographical Note: Grace Schermerhorn grew up in the towns of Swannanoa, Black Mountain, and
Morganton, North Carolina. She currently works as a Youth Services Library Assistant II in Caldwell
County, North Carolina and will graduate with her MLIS from UNCG in Summer 2019. She began picking
out her own clothes at an early age and has always had a distinct personal style. She is particularly
drawn to vintage silhouettes with full skirts, made fuller by colorful petticoats, bright and fun patterns,
and statement pieces that can be mixed-and-matched.

Scope and Contents: The clothing in this collection spans from handmade to factory produced, vintage
to new. They items are made of natural and man-made materials, including cotton, nylon, and polyester.
The clothing was purchased between the years of 2008 and 2018, new and second-hand. Handmade
items have unknown creators, unless otherwise noted and vintage items are unbranded unless
otherwise noted.
