Sales and inventory

After that we asked them about their sales that which method they use for their sales so they
told us that they use FIFO approach means first in and first out, and the reason which they
told us for using this approach was to prevent their product from short expiry and expiry so
the product which they produce first send to the market first to prevent it from short expiry.
After that we asked them about their production capacity and number of employs they have
so told us that the minimum production capacity which they have is 10000 (syrups and
tablets) and if we include the sachets so the total capacity reached to 15000-16000 per day,
and the number of total employs which they have are 64.

Location decision
After that we asked them about the location that why they chose the industrial are
Hayatabad for their factory so they told us that due to industrial hub and facilities provided by
the government , the facilities which the government is providing to them is low cost
electricity , even the load shedding timings are discussed with the factory owners and they
getting low cost gas and some tax exemptions and also they told that reason for selecting
this location is their distributers which have their offices in Peshawar sadder and city side .

Legal constraints
They also told us about the legal constraints some time they face which they told us that
they face government some time put regulation or some time they ban some medicine or if
the medicine is made without prior permission of drug regulatory authority so government
bane it and they have to take all the returns from the market for which they also bear loss.
When we ask them about the production machines so they didn’t allowed us to the machine
area because of privacy issues but they told us that they most buy machine or import
machine from china and also an instructor come from china and explain them the user
manual and also they inform us that whenever they buy local machines they buy it from
Lahore

Quality control
Then we asked them about the quality controls so they told us that they have a highly
equipped quality control room where they do quality testing of each and every product and
they always do the quality testing of new product and if the new product don’t pass the
quality testing or is not according to the quality standards so they don’t send the product to
the market and each product have different and separate quality control file, then we asked
them about the bottle necks which are effecting their productivity so they told us they are
facing different bottle necks in the first one is the space of issue the total land of the factory
is 2 canal and just because of space issue they cannot expand their operations and cannot
increase their production and for expansion they need more land for which inking they are
thinking to shift their factory to relatively big area within the industrial state and the other
bottle neck which they are facing is the availability of raw material that the issue of the raw
material always they face because the major chunk of the raw material they import from
France and some time the delivery of raw material is late and some time there is fluctuation
of dollar so which effect their cost and they have to increase or decrease their cost and also
affect their cost base estimation and their profit margins and the third bottle neck which they
face is the clashes between the workers sometimes the clash between the workers occur
which is the human nature so due to the clash between the workers the production of the
unit is stop which also affect their productivity

Supply chain

Raw material
The raw material is imported from Karachi and France. The raw material includes Active type
(Omega 3) and also for packaging. The main suppliers are Arochem Chemicals which also
supply herbal plants for manufacturing medicines and for packaging the raw material is
supplied from Rawalpindi, it includes packets for medicines and also bottles for syrups.

Production
After the raw material is received from these places, then it comes to production unit. There
are several machines that include crushing drying etc. of the herbal raw material.

Distribution
The distributors of polyfine are all across the country but majority of them are located. The
distributors of Peshawar include Bio ethics, med pharma and others.
After the distribution to these companies, it is the task of these companies to take them
towards the retail distribution. Retail distribution also includes medical raps visiting doctors
and prescribing medicines to them.

the cost of the product anytime.

Process selection
Batch production
It is a process of manufacturing in which the products are produced in a certain batch. The
medicines are produced in batches on order as they use FIFO method. Each medicine is
labelled with their respective batch numbers.

Design work systems


Working conditions
The workers are required to wear Mask inside the production area. The temperature is
required to be maintained at 36 humidity rate. The supervisors are required to wear Lab
coats inside the production area. The labours wear uniform when they are inside the
manufacturing and production unit.

Compensation
The compensation plan of the company is on individual basis. On achieving a target on
monthly basis they get a reward. The supervisor is rewarded with 2000 for achieving target
on monthly basis.

Overtime compensation
Those workers who work overtime are also given compensations.

Employee insurance
All the employees of Polyfine are insured.
