There are 23 Democratic candidates running for President right now.

If you're
like me, your Inbox is probably flooded with fundraising emails. And I get it --
this presidential election is hugely important. But if we can be real for a second
-- the fundraising emails do get a little overwhelming at times, don't you think?

It's hard for a grassroots campaign like ours to compete for attention in such a
crowded field. But our campaign is different.

We aren't taking a single dime from a single PAC, because I truly believe that in
order to solve so many of the really big, urgent problems we're facing -- the
healthcare affordability crisis, catastrophic climate change, the public health
crisis of gun violence in this country -- we have to fix our broken campaign
finance system. And that means that we have to change how we do politics in
this country -- and return power to people, not PACs.

We're building the movement in rural Texas, in counties that had *never* seen
a Democrat show up and run a real organizing program -- not just push Texas
closer to a more purple state. We're running so that we can win Texas.

Our campaign is doing the work. We're showing up and getting in the trenches
to flip Texas in 2020. And we need your help. We have a monthly deadline on
Friday at midnight. If you can chip in, even $5, you will be helping us show that
this campaign has what it take.

Our campaign for District 25 is about building the ground game that will make a
Democratic victory in 2020 possible. We're going to knock the doors, make the
calls, send the texts, and register the voters that it will take, not only to elect a
Democratic president -- capturing Texas and its 36 Electoral votes -- but
to send a Democrat from Texas to the Senate, and flip as many of the 11 state
House districts that overlap with CD25 as we can -- before our already
gerrymandered Congressional maps get even more distorted and locked in for
another 10 years.
