Fuel oil pressure in unit injected engines

Scania Engines P96 family uses a unit injected injection system, which
generates the required injection pressure inside the injector unit.

The injector is located in the centre of the cylinder head and has no fuel
pipes connected to it.
Fuel are distributed from a gear driven feed pump to a fuel manifold which
is attached to the cylinder head.

The fuel is then distributed in to each injector through a cross drilling in the
cylinder head casting.
Return fuel is handled through the same fuel manifold.
