My Best English Lecturer at STPN

Learning is an obligation that should be done by all students at academic institution including at STPN. At
the Level Diploma 4 STPN, there are 2 Classes namely class A and B. Both classes study 9 (nine) subject
and one general view, thus the total subject taken by student are 10 studies. One of the subjects to be
taken is English Language.

My name is Bastian Alexander Simanjuntak, I am in class A. We learn English 2 times in a week. In

Monday, we learn theory while in Wednesday we do more practices.

In this semester, my classmate and I are taught by 3 (three) lecturers, namely: (1) Mr Slamet Muryono,
(2) Mr. Slamet Wiyono, (3) Mr. Yendi Sufyandi. In this essay, I would like to talk about Mr. Yendi sufyandi. I
think he is an amazing lecturer since he is able to make English language become an interesting subject
to study so that his students become eager to learn English. Moreover, He could make his students
become more active in classroom. At the first time, I thought that he was cruel, frightening and not
exciting but I realize he is the best lecturer I ever have.

He makes some classroom rules while he is teaching, namely:

1. Every student must make a question during the class. However, the question should be a good
question not the ordinary one. If the question is considered good by him, he will give a gift.
Somehow, that is really surprise me. Even though the gift that given is not high value considering the
price, that will bring pleasure to everybody who receive the give. I once got the gift from him. I was
really happy at that time. However, I was not allowed to ask a question afterward since other
students should have a chance to ask him. Even though, I still have many questions to ask.
2. During his class, every student must use English Language. It insists all students to talk in English.
This rule makes students have chance to practice English more and more especially in conversation.
3. Students are not allowed to use cellphone. I myself disagree with this rule, since I still need my
cellphone to open Google translate or dictionary.
4. Every student should give speech. Honestly, I am worry about this task because I am little bit worry
about my English. During the speech, we were documented and filmed. These are aimed for our
documentation later when we graduate from STPN.
5. Another interesting thing is the games. He combines both two classes to play games. Each class will
send 4 students and the group will compete each other. Even though, I got 4 th rank at that time, I was
happy for being trusted as a representative of my class.

Mr. Yendi is assertive. He uses a very good learning system. He is a teacher who can change the situation.
So his students are passionate to learn English. He becomes my motivator to study English. I am very
grateful to him, because of him, I love English now. It will be beneficial for me considering my goal in the
future to pursue master degree abroad.
If I compare the three lecturers, I think Mr yendi is the best English lecturer. I pray for him that he is
always in good health and more creative to make the students love English more. I say thank you very
much again.
