Kind Attn:
Sub: Proposal for 50 KLD Biological & Tertiary treatment Plant– reg.

Dear Sir,

We thank you very much for the kind courtesy you had extended to the under signed recently
when he visited your factory.

Based on the discussions and the data furnished by you, we are herewith enclosing our proposal
for Zero Liquid Discharge Plant.

Trust the same is line with your requirement and now we look forward for your favorable
decision.

With regards

Yours sincerely,

For VELLANKI ENVIRONMENTAL PROCESS SOLUTIONS

ANNEXURE II

BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT SYSTEM

DESIGN BASIS

Expected low TDS/low COD effluents: 50 KLD

The characteristics of the raw effluent considered for designing the plant:

Design Flow : 50 M 3/day.

PH : 4.0 - 6.5

BOD : 8000 mg/lit

COD : 20000 mg/lit

TDS : 5000 mg/lt.

NH4+ : <200 mg/lit

TSS : 300 mg/lt.

Biological Treated effluent characteristics:

PH : 6.5-8.5

BOD : <500 mg/lit

COD : <2000 mg/lit

TDS : 5000 mg/lt.

NH4+ : 50 mg/lit

TSS : <100 mg/lt.

Note: Higher values considered for design to accommodate shock loadings

TREATMENT SCHEME (BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT):
RAW EFFLUENT → BAR SCREEN CHAMBER → O&G TRAP → EQUALIZATION / NEUTRALIZATION →
LAMELLA CLARIFIER → PUMP → PRE AERATION TANK → AERATION TANK-1 → TUBE SETTLER - 1
→ AERATION TANK-2 → TUBE SETTLER - 2 → INTERMEDIATE STORAGE TANK → MGF → ACF →
UF FEED TANK.

PROCESS DESCRIPTION:

PRIMARY TREATMENT:

Pre treatment is meant for to maintain homogeneous characteristics in low TDS/high COD
effluent, to remove oil &grease, and to neutralize & to remove suspended solids by addition of
coagulants.
SCREEN CHAMBER → O &G TRAP → COLLECTION TANK → LAMELLA CLARIFIER → PRE AERATION
TANK

SECONDARY TREATMENT

Pre aeration tank provided to enhance the biological treatment process and strip low volatiles. After pre aeration
effluent over flows in to Aeration tank-1 by gravity. In Biological treatment process where BOD/COD reduction
can be achieved by virtue of aerobic microbial activities. The oxygen required will be supplied through air bubble
diffusers. The bio-solids formed in the biological process will be separated in the downstream Tube
Settler/Secondary Clarifier. Settled sludge at bottom to be recirculated in to process to maintain required biomass in
aeration tanks.

The clear supernatant will be collected in the treated effluent collection tank for disposal/ tertiary treatment.

The clear supernatant from Clarifier/tube settler will be collected in intermittent collection tank, and online
disinfectant(sodium hypo) dosing system provided to kill the bacteria before disposal or feeding to Multi grade
Filter and Activated Carbon filter for removal of turbidity, colour and organic impurities .

PRE AERATION TANK → AERATION TANK-1 → AERATION TANK-2 → TUBE SETTLER →

INTERMEDIATE STORAGE TANK → MGF → ACF → UF FEED TANK.

SLUDGE HANDLING SYSTEM

The excess biological sludge generated in the aeration tanks and the Sludge generated from primary treatment to be
collected in a sludge sump. Filter Press for de watering or sludge drying beds. The dried sludge will be disposed as
per regulatory authority instructions. The schematics of the process are shown above.

SLUDGE SUMP →SCREW PUMP → FILTER PRESS →SLUDGE FOR DISPOSAL TO TSDF.

TANK  RO SYSTEM  PRODUCT  PRODUCT WATER STORAGE TANK.

PROCESS DESCRIPTION:

The filtered effluent will be collected in the storage tank (UF feed tank) and fed to Ultra filtration
membranes through Micron filter. It will be collected in storage tank for further treatment. This system
is dead end filtration system. There is no reject. Reject only consider by fast and back flushing. The ultra
filtration membranes are with small pore size (0.01 microns) and used to remove the suspended solids,
bacteria, colloids, proteins and carbohydrates.
