Project Identification Questionnaire

This questionnaire has been developed for use by a team consisting of a junior engineer and senior
overseer and Agriculture staff based in the District office and nearest Agricultural Service Centre. The
data collected during the course of a brief visit to the proposed Sub – Project site should be sufficient to
identify a potential project for further study at feasibility level, or to reject the project where feasibility
seems unlikely due to technical, economic or social reasons. The completed questionnaire is to be
forwarded to the District Agriculture Development Implementation Committee for their decision on the
Sub – Project's future.

A representative group of farmers should assist with the data collection. The nature and purpose of the
visit, and that the visit is no guarantee of future project should be clearly explained to the farmers.

The Persons making the identification visit should have with them the 1:50,000 scale topographic map
and the 1:50, 00 (or 1:20,000) aerial photographs covering the proposed sub – Project area.

7. Prior Water Rights

Describe all farmer managed systems serving the proposed command or with prior rights to
the water source. How many households and how much land is served in each system, and
are there any potential conflicts? Can agreement be reached on water sharing? Explain

On introduction of irrigation project, no public potential conflicts arise, about all

households & land mentioned can be served. No water right problem.

8. Catchments Condition
The catchments area consists of forestland, cultivated area, barren land, grazing land and
water bodies. Bed materials of the river comprises with large boulder, rounded and angular
gravel pebbles, course sand mud as well other organic matters with uneven longitudinal slope,
a sudden drop is found at different places. Bank of the river source is stable with heavy forest
and vegetation. Paddy, wheat and maize are main culture in this area. As going towards
south the catchments area is increasing, due to joining of many rivulets

26. People meet during Visit

27. Recommendations
The project is with fertile command area, nominal canal length, less CD structures and more
possibility of greater cropping intensity (with vegetables) due to nearest market, road head and
farmers are enthusiastic, so it is recommended for further study or implementation.
This project seen socially and environment viable to take off, so it is recommended to further
study or implementation
