Priming 1. Introduce the following Specific Learning Outcomes using any of
the suggested protocols (Verbatim, Own Words, Read-aloud) I. I can explain what a disaster is. II. I can differentiate factors that put us at risk. III. I can explain when a disaster might happen.
2. Review the basic definition of Hazard and Disaster.
Hazard - A dangerous phenomenon, substance, human activity or condition that may cause loss of life, injury or other health impacts, property damage, loss of livelihoods and services, social and economic disruption, or environmental damage.
Risk - the possibility that something bad or unpleasant (such as
