NARRATIVE REPORT ON BRIGADA ESKWELA 2019

Educators believe that environment plays a big part in students’ learning. And so, if classrooms
are not conducive to learning because of poor condition and some defective school facilities, education
is hindered. The Department of Education conducted this year’s Brigada Eskwela, also known as the
National Schools Maintenance Week on May 20-25, 2019 where all education
stakeholders contributed their time, effort and resources in ensuring that the school facilities are ready
in time for the school opening.

In preparation to the Brigada Eskwela Caravan as a Co-chairman of advocacy and marketing

Team we distributed letters to PNP, BFP, Barangay La Paz, San Rafael, Alusiis, San Pascual,
Natividad, San Jose, Patrocinio, Grullo and other organizations like Sanguniang Kabataan, LOVE Team
and youth. The School Performing Arts of La Paz National together with the LPNHS Drum and Lyre
gave an entertainment number on the opening Program.

Due to my National seminar workshop on Philippine Folk Dances I wasn’t able to execute my
brigade eskwela from May 20-24, 2019. I started my brigade eskwela on May 25, 2019 (Saturday) and
(Monday) May 27, 2019.

The first thing that I did is to clean my assigned classroom (10- Sapphire), the small library
converted to a classroom due to the incoming 2 story school building. Cleaning, repairing, Painting and
making our classroom conducive and effective to the students as their home is not an easy task, it
takes extra effort in transferring bulks of books from grade 7 to 10, cabinets, instructional Materials and
trash. Wearing the shoes of painter just to paint the walls of my classroom and door is difficult but
satisfying as we see the result. Wearing the shoes of carpenter in fixing long tables placing blackboards
and frames to the walls is challenging task.

All school facilities are now in good condition. The school surrounding is now free from tall
grasses. Generally my classroom is now ready for the school opening. Evidences for the activity are
attached herewith.
