Product overview
The Modular Safety Controller offer is composed of a controller with a variety of expansion modules. The
safety controller can be expanded up to 128 digital inputs, 16 solid state or relay safety outputs, and up to
28 (status) diagnostic outputs. The offer is configured by using SoSafe Configurable software.
SoSafe Configurable is used for the following tasks:
• Creating / Editing an application project (safety application)
• Compiling the project
• Sending the project to the Safety Controller
• Online Monitoring of the Safety Controller configuration
• Project documentation
• Application simulation

New features

New CPU FW 3.0

The CPU can support 2 Guard Locks on the status output in addition to those available on the OSSD,
bringing the total to three.

Modules with versions prior to 3.0 had the limitation of a single guard lock.

New software operators

• Logical Macro: Groupings can be created with a maximum of three operators of different types
for a total of max. 8 inputs.
This allows to increase the maximum number of operators used (now 64).
With the introduction of the macro you have an average increase of about 30% of the number of
operators.

• Restart Macro: It includes a logical operator with a maximum of 7 inputs and the restart operator,
and it can also be set as manual restart.

• Timer Operator "Delay Line": When the signal IN is moved to 0 logic level, this operator inserts
a delay to a signal carrying the output OUT to 0 after the time set. If before the end of the set time
the input IN returns to 1, the output OUT still generates a pulse signal with this duration: about 3
times the response time plus the delayed time set.

• Monostable B operator: The operator MONOSTABLE supplies the “out” output with a logic level
1 (TRUE) which is triggered by the rising edge of the signal on input “In”. The logic level 1
remains for the duration of the set time.

• Flip-Flop T operator: The operator T FLIP FLOP stores the status of the Q output (Toggle).

• Reset M1 operator: This operator resets the system in case of errors detected on the inputs or
outputs. This operator generates a reset of the system when the corresponding input is double
transitioned OFF-ON-OFF in less than 5s.

• Network_In input: To improve the management of the network connection, a new Network_In
input has been added. This input must be used in case of connection between CPU OSSD output
and the input of another CPU.

Monitor simulation
The Simulator allows to verify the functionality and correct operation of a project created with the safety
designer before the assembly of the machinery. It allows to activate the inputs of the system manually or
in a programmed way to ensure that the output results obtained are correct.

New visualization functions

In this release, zoom + and zoom- are available. These functions can be activated pressing the CTRL key
on the keyboard and simultaneously rotating the mouse wheel.

Additionally, the AutoPan utility is added. The position of the project scheme on the display is
automatically adjusted depending on the location of the selected item.

Fixed issues
• The "select all network" command did not operate correctly if the network starts from a single
OSSD
• If you connect OSSD StatusOut to serializer input you had an error message and the connection
was forbidden
• Short command CTRL + O and CTRL + S are now functional
• Company information is saved by default
