Are you looking for process control applications that
will easily adapt to your specific process control
system? Do you want to start small and add
applications as you need them? Or, do you want a
dedicated station for engineering, operations, or
maintenance? The DeltaV Base Station gives you
the freedom to do it all. Choose from over 14
software applications to create the workstation
software suite that fits your specific needs. A Base
Station is made up of any or all of the Base Station
software applications and the DeltaV hardware to
run it.
Adaptable work environment. The Base Station
was designed with you, our customer, in mind.
Select the applications that match your needs. The
Base Station can be either remote or directly
connected to your DeltaV system.

Product Description and Specification
The Base Station is designed to provide a solid
foundation on which you can build a custom
solution. All DeltaV software products include
features such as windows, graphics, drag and drop,
and cut and paste. This allows you to concentrate on
your control strategies—not on the software—to
easily create, operate, and maintain a powerful
process control solution. The Base Station can be
connected directly or remotely to the DeltaV system.
Choose the options that are right for you at the Base
Station. Your system will be up and running in
record time. Create your Base Station to operate,
monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain your process.

discrete, and text parameters and their status
and stores them for future analysis.
9 Continuous Historian Excel Add-in. Accesses
any historical data in the system and brings it
into your copy of Microsoft Excel for improved
analysis and reporting.
9 Flexlock. Use this DeltaV exclusive tool to
ensure that operators remain dedicated to
monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining the
process according to plant operating
philosophies. Operators are locked in to their
system responsibilities so that nothing can
preempt their duties.
9 Diagnostics. Instantaneously checks out the
health of your DeltaV system.

Options
The following software options are optionally
available on the Base Station. Whether remotely or
directly connected to the DeltaV system, the Base
Station provides the same capabilities. For detailed
information about these applications, refer to the
appropriate product data sheet.
• OPC Excel Add-in. Accesses any online data
and brings it into your copy of Excel.
• OPC History Server. Exposes all DeltaV
historical data using the industry standard OPC
Historical Data Access interface.

• History View Suite. Powerful trend plotting

• AMS Device Manager Client SC. Provides the
ability to configure and view the status of HART
and FOUNDATION fieldbus devices (license
from AMS Suite: Intelligent Device Manager
required for configuration capability).
• Batch Operator Interface. Uses operator
graphics to start, monitor, and operate your
batch process.
• Configuration Studio Suite. Defines system
components, operator interfaces, and control
strategies for your system.
• Control Studio On-line. Graphically monitors
and troubleshoots running control strategies with
the click of a button.

• One ProfessionalPLUS Station is required for each DeltaV system.

• The Base Station must be loaded onto a workstation. A variety of hardware is available to meet your specific
requirements. Refer to the DeltaV Workstation Hardware product data sheet for details.

• Use of the Continuous Historian or OPC Excel Add-in requires a copy of Microsoft Excel (provided by others).
