India is a land of agriculture diversity with 2/3 of its

population still dependent on agriculture and contributing about 20%

to the Indian GDP. Value addition of food products is expected to
increase from 8 per cent to 35 per cent by 2025. To develop and
promote agricultural and tourism (Agri-tourism), through PFI’s projects,
training and support as a potential vehicle for diversifying and
stabilizing rural economies. The objective is to showcase rural life, art,
culture and heritage at rural locations and in villages, which have core
competence in art & craft, handloom, and textiles as also an asset
base in the natural environment. The intention is to benefit the local
community economically and socially as well as enable interaction
between tourists and local farmers for a mutually enriching
experience. Under this mission, the thrust is to promote village
tourism as the primary tourism product to spread tourism and its
socio-economic benefits to rural and its new geographic regions,
thereby stopping the exodus from rural to urban areas. The base level
NGOs is the interactive forum for local community participation in
work plan implementation, further supported by other community
level institutions. For the visitor, whose expenditure creates revenue
for host community service providers; agro tourism adds value
through packaged programmes in art & craft imparted by skilled local
artisans. Village entertainment groups unveil local history and culture,
natural and oral treasures. The visitor thus comes face to face with
India’s rural traditions. So far, 8 agro tourism projects in various
districts of 4 States/Union Territories have been running with the
support of NGOs/VOs/FPOs and our listed corporate players.

B. Setup ,promote and establishment of Food Processing
units/Multipurpose Cold Storage/ Temperature control
transportation system/modern packaging
C. Using Internet/Mobile as major instrument for
communication with the distinct part of the country.
D. Encourage young stars into Agro productions and Hospitality
management of Green tourism and cultural development.
E. Mission to build 10, 00,000 acor of land with Social Forestry in
various project areas within 2025.
 F. Promote green tourism in International arena and increase
the foreign currency reserve of the country and encourage
sustainable agriculture development mission.

Execution Mechanism
A. Project implemented by grass route NGOs/VOs/FPOs/Farmers
Clubs.etc with the support from various govt. departments nd
corporate world.
B. Project coverage area, a single district
C. The implementation agency must be build Farmers club and SHGs only
with the participation of the area citizens.
D. The said agency must be setup a managing committee for the
execution of the project with the presence of the local area common
representations.
E. Hospitality service must be provided by the SHG groups.
F. Need to setup an office in the project area with facility of Internet and
Landline/mobile ph.
