A Teacher in the Making

Author of the book The Little Prince, St. Antoine de Exupery once siad “It is in the heart that one can
see rightly. What is essential is invisible to eye”. My heart as an aspiring teacher is a fragile one. I’m quite
anxious about how will I become as a teacher someday and as a second parent for my future students. For all
the trainings that I have got from the teachers that I encountered and also from the university’s seminars where
I was sent, I’m not still confident about my personal qualities as a teacher. Rest assured as a future teacher, I
believe that I also have qualities that will enable me to be fitted in the working force of tecahing.
Innovativeness, reliability, intelligence, buoyancy are just some of the few qualities that I can be prideful of.
Despite of the circumstances and knowing the fact that I am a woman, I tend to be become emotional but seek
the best solutions to become emotionally stable. Moreover, I’m opening myself for constructive criticism and
possiblities in the future, As a future teacher I’m expected to do my best and be versatile in this changing
world.

themselves and experiment on their lesson. The teacher is very open to the curious and inquisitive minds of the
students by ansewring their questions from time to time. Even though some of the students are quite naughty
during the dicussion, Ms. Lumogdang maintained her compossure and admonished the students in the most

Title: Personal Qualities of an Experienced Teacher: A Personal Encounter

Personal Qualities of an Experienced Teacher: A Personal Encounter

(Essay)

Fair-skinned, slender and chinky-eyed. She was indeed a beauty but then her intelligence
and spontaneity crowns her as an experienced teacher with remarkable personal qualities.

Born in Idiacacan, Pandan, Antique, Ms. Liezel Lumogdang was been a bread winner for
her family since her sisters entered into marriage. But yet she assures that every learning
experience that her students will have with her is a touching and worth keeping one. One by one,
the student raised questions but her patience and intelligence answer them in the best way that
she could explain. As a facilitator and mentor, the studentslearned alongside with her but then
thirst for hands on experience like doing the activity themselves was quenched well.

Fair and objective, the students are treated equally inside the classroom. Equal
opportunities that could foster learning are done inside Ms. Lumogdang’s room. The different
multiple intelligences are catered well because of the different outcomes that were made after the
presentation. Through this, the students are able to exhibit their expertise in their chosen field as
well as in the intelligence where they flourish.

Emotional stability is also eminent in the teacher because of the way she admonishes the
student is in the utmost professional and child-friendly way. She never raised her voice nor told
the student exasperating words that could discourage him in attending the class. Through advice
and a simple look, the teacher made the student follow her instructions.

Flexible and buoyant, the teacher made sure the students will be handled and treated
according to the bracket of the age. Teaching different types of student in different grade and
year levels allow her to enter into different avenues and challenge her versatility as a teacher.
Moreover, she doesn’t settle for less. She plans and makes variety of activities to cater her
unique and individual learners.

Variety indeed is a spice of life. To put in context, Ms. Lumogdang’s variety of menus
for learning add spice and magic to her class.

possible.

By researching for more information and learning everyday of life, I can also influence
my students by treating them fairly and objectively. This could be in the classroom, activity
or even in the examinations. I want to secure a conducive and a child-friendly classroom
