Meditation Speech
Meditation, a way to clear your mind. Meditation goes back many centuries beginning in
China and India being used in Taoism and Buddhism. Early uses of meditation were to
communicate with God or to heal. Nowadays it is used as a method to reduce stress and
anxiety. It is easy to do and you don’t need to have any kind of special equipment. All you
need is to clear your mind. If it helps you can close your eyes and make circles with your index
and thumb with your palms up. If schools can implement a short five-minute session for
everyone even staff then it could be beneficial.
Meditation can help improve many personal skills. According to my research, students
who were taught meditation at school reported higher optimism, more positive emotions,
stronger self-identity, greater self-acceptance and took better care of their health as well as
experiencing reduced stress, anxiety, and depression. Meditating is good for students, and it
would also be good for any teachers and staff too! Without teacher and staff success there is no
student success, we can’t have one without the other. Meditation is also very cost-effective. The
beauty of teaching meditation is that you get to better yourself while there are no costly
resources required. Meditation could also be an alternative to getting punished. Rather than
punishing students who are having a difficult time keeping their composure and staying out of
trouble, why not teach them how their bodies, minds, and spirits work so that they can manage
there challenging feelings instead of bottling it all up inside. A great way or type of meditation is
Mindfulness meditation, Mindfulness meditation is a mental training practice that involves
focusing your mind on your experiences in the present moment. Mindfulness meditation can
involve breathing practice, mental imagery, awareness of body and mind, and muscle and body
relaxation.

Meditation has been used in martial arts. For centuries Martial Artists would start and
end their training with meditation. It helps them clear their mind from the work they had to do
during the day so they can focus on their training. And after their training, it helps to regulate
their body. It also helps reflect on what they have done for the day and how to improve. Now if
we could implement a 5-minute meditation period in the beginning and end of the day the
students would be able to focus and be productive in their work.

Sri Chinmoy, a famous Indian spiritual leader said: “ meditation means the recognition or
the discovery of one’s own true self.” Meditation is a way for students to discover and explore
themselves in a more deeper way. It is not only about to learn more about yourself, but there is
also evidence that meditation can lead to more focus, durability, and attention. This would
immensely help the students and the learning atmosphere. Mediation is not only a way to
improve the students capacity it is also a good and peaceful way to resolve conflicts between
students, other schools in the country use this method.
Mediation is something that could help at our school to encourage a better learning atmosphere.
This method could also help students to resolve their mental issues and to live more peaceful
together, to discover and recognize our true selves.
