GPO: Take Action

14 Points of ASGL
Our school has four mottos also known as the GPO. They are investigating the world,
recognizing

perspective, communicating ideas, and taking action. As we exercise the GPOs, we are also

exercising our freedom of speech and opportunity to improve our skills. However, our voices are

never heard and we never had a chance to truly collaborate with others. Instead, we only look

down on each other and never seek for a positive solution. Not just between students, but also

teachers and staffs. The expectations of Communicating Ideas and Investigating the World is not

met. Another issue is that students don’t listen and speak from their hearts and they don’t put

feelings and be honest about their speech and presentation. Therefore, we decided to create these

fourteen points to make the GPOs come true.

I. We will have freedom of speech and be truly heard.

II. The students should receive more support than before.

III. We will never look down on other beliefs.

IV. We will collaborate with different ideas rather than just listening to other thoughts.
V. The students will be more collaborative and show more precise opinions about the events
occuring in the world.

VI. Without a Reasonable Articulable Suspicion, students and employees may not be searched.

VII. Discrimination or hate speech will be prohibited.

VIII. Students, teachers, and staffs should not be intrusive and will not be allowed to have any
inconvenient conversations that are not relevant in class time.

IX. Students will ensure other student’s safety if they are in trouble.

X. All students will have the chance to learn about the world.

XI. Students will bring their own materials.

XII. Students will be taught about the certain rights they have in school.

XIII. Students will exercise their liberty by being responsible for their own property in Campus.
They will learn what it is to be independent and to carry out their responsibilities.

XIV. There will be no private understandings of the school employees but should be opened to
the students and parents unless if it is a testing matter.

We wish for this to happen only because the school is for the students and by the students. It is
not

our intention to decide who should dominate the school. The purpose of the fourteen points is not

to challenge each other and see who should be taking over. The goal is to bring balance. We just

want to ensure the safety of the students and give them the rights they need. We want students,

teachers, and school staffs to understand their rights and position. We should decide how we
want

for our school because democracy is how our nation, United States operate.
