Should people be prosecuted for online piracy?

In the recent years illegal downloads,Copyright, File sharing and Piracy, have became a

controversial issue that cannot be stop it. Many internet companies such movie, and music

industries, have allied themselves to created a solution to deal with this battle against illegal

downloading. There are a lot of ways of how an individual can download a illegal file using

network. On this provided sources we read the author's opinion about online piracy. The author’s

solid tone is to show the audience the impact of downloading illegal files from the network. My

goal on this paper is to bring the sources into a discussion on their opinion about why the illegal

downloading have become an immense issue on internet. People should be persecuted because

piracy is stealing information from someone else, stealing will always be a crime no matter

whether on the internet of outside it.

There are a lot of consequences for those individuals who use the internet connection or

technology to make online piracy a problem. People who are been affected by downloading files

from the network are singers, writers etc. On source 4 the writer interview an artist to to created

music, singers are considered the most affected in online piracy there are alot of people who

work by downloading illegal music or creating app that are illegal. The artist wasn't happy he

also used good point to defend his claim, first by saying that to created a single song it really

hard, and it take a lot of time to work on every single step to make a good song. The artist

suggest that is wasn't fair that somebody just comes and robes the file and gives it out for free,

we need to get some money out because to created a song we also spend our own money so is

fear that we get the money back. This is one clear example of how the online piracy is affecting

others person just cause there are people who don’t really care about their hard work.

Based on the sources information there are alot of consequences for making online piracy

It can be that an individual have to pay an amount of money or also can go prison by certain of

time. An example for distribution copyright is a fine of $250,000 and can get up to 5 years in

prison. According to source 2, a college student was fined a total of $675,000 for downloading

and sharing music illegally. A student from university created a petition because the fine was

insanely expensive for something so little he say that it did not make sense for student that

amount of money just for some song . Online piracy is a very common thing in young adults this

days as is show in the source 3 in the graphs.

There is a debated in those sources because while the sources 2 is making good points to

defend the people who just copy the file. On source 1 show us the consequences to an individual

if they get caught downloading illegal files. This debated are not helping a lot because while

they are getting in a discussion the problem is getting bigger and bigger. It would be more batter

if they also take the citizens opinion because some time people have to do illegal thing no

because they wanted but they have to.This don’t justify the reason of stealing but it can help or

contributed to to created a solution. Internet is like another it have a lot of information,

Resources that sometime people can make mistake so it wouldn't be fair for them to be accused

of online piracy or purchase with a mount of money that they don’t even have.

Many people would say that online piracy is not bad at all because sometimes they

Cannot afford so the only way they have is to download the document by the illegal ways.

Looking at different perspective other people belief that online piracy should not be advocated as

it is an act of copyright infringement and a form of intellectual property theft.If users choose to

pirate resources, many may argue that it will lead disincentive for more innovative creations

since the creators are not recognized for the work they do and are not receiving the monetary

benefits they should deserve. This is a debated between those who think online piracy is not bad

at all and those who think people should be persecuted for online piracy.

In conclusion after all the sources and the dabated between both sources 1 and 2 it

concluded that downloading illegal files can cause a lot of problem and also have a bad influence

on those who are been affected by online piracy. it can affect the consumer as well the creator of

the file. For some people seems more essays to get thing for free but what they don’t know is that

this can bring a lot of consequences for them. This debated show the reader that online piracy

have nothing good they wanted to keep everyone from something bad that could happen to them.

This led people to think if they really wanted to download illegal document from the web but

now knowing the consequences.
