It is a little unsettling to do some things for the last
time. God has allowed me to preach over 6,000 ser-
mons and write over 3,200 articles to this wonderful
church. A quote often attributed to Dr. Seuss sums up
my feelings. “Don’t cry because its over. Smile because
it happened.” Or maybe Winnie-the-Pooh said it best.
“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying
goodbye so hard.” (You can tell from my resources that
I have five grandchildren).
We intentionally call this publication “The Encourager.”
It gives a lot of information, but we mainly wanted it to
be an encouragement for you to stay faithful in serving
Christ. Mark Twain said, “I can live for two months on a
good compliment.”
Let me both encourage and compliment you.
The more of God you see, the more of God will be seen
in you. Jesus said His light shines through us. You have
been a lighthouse giving hope, help and heaven to peo-
ple in need. Like the ancient street lamplighter, “they
will know where you’ve been by the light you left be-
hind.” Keep shining.
We are stronger when we are smaller. Those of you
involved in LifeGroups (Sunday School) are the real he-
roes of our mission. This is not only teachers and work-
ers. It includes the class member that encourages,
prays and ministers to others. Trees together make a
forest. Soldiers together make an army. Raindrops to-
gether make a river. We are better together.
“If you don’t have a dream, how can you have a dream
come true?” (Faye LaPointe) The Bible says, “without
faith it is impossible to please God.” (Hebrews 11:6)
There is no one like you. You are here not by chance
but by God’s own choice. He planned the days of your
life to make a difference in the lives of others. Don’t
play it safe and do church as usual. Dare to believe God
for the impossible. It doesn’t have to be sensational.
Just a cup of water, a widow’s offering, a small boy’s
lunch. We do the possible. God does the impossible.
The greatness of a church is not measured by it’s
seating capacity but by it’s sending capacity. It is good
to go to church. It is better to be the church.
Finally, remember how much you are loved by God. If
He had a refrigerator your picture would be on it.

MONTGOMERY BISCUITS FUND RAISER
Eastmont Students have an opportunity to help with
parking at Riverwalk Stadium for Biscuits games. Families
who serve earn money toward Summer Mission Trip and
Super Summer. You may sign up for available slots
through the Student Ministry Facebook Page or by asking
Cleve.
1J2 SUMMER CLUB
1J2 takes place Monday through Friday, June 3-7. There
are two 1J2 Teams in operation in two Montgomery
communities: From 9am-12pm a team is serving at Hyde
Park. Then from 1pm-4pm a team is serving Flatline
Church in Chisolm.
ST. LOUIS MISSION TRIP MEETING
On Sunday, June 9, 5:00 p.m. we will have a meeting to
discuss the St. Louis Trip. The trip is scheduled for June
23-29.
SUPER SUMMER July 8-12
For those who registered, be sure to pick up and turn in a
completed MY TESTIMONY sheet, available outside the

Every Thursday at 7pm at the Kim’s house (4023 John-
stown Dr). Our series is called Relational Rehab: A study
on the book of Malachi.

At Laguna Beach Christian Retreat in Panama City. July 26-

The Music and Worship Ministries presents the annual
PATRIOTIC CELEBRATION Sunday, June 30 at 10:30 am
and Monday, July 1 at 6 pm. This is a time to honor our
country, those who have served, and to thank God for
the earthly and eternal freedoms He provides.
We are working on it now and there is room for you to
be involved... from the Community Band to the Com-
bined Choirs (1st grade and up) find out how you can
celebrate with us!!
PATRIOTIC SERVICE
Each year a slideshow is presented during The Patriotic
Celebration to recognize members of our congregation
who have served or are currently serving in the military.

STUDENT CHOIR
Thanks to everyone who supported our Student Choir in
the Boston Butt Sale.
Student Choir Tour is June 16-20! Be in prayer as our
Student Choir sets out to engage in Music On Mission
with the Baldwin Baptist Association in the Gulf Shores
area. Student Choir will have their final rehearsal before
tour this Sunday at 4:00 in the Choir Suite.
KIDZ CHOIR
1st-6th grade kids make sure you are at our rehearsal
THIS SUNDAY-June 9, from 5-6, in the Choir Suite. Even
if you’ve never been in Kidz Choir before, we would love
to have you sing with us in Eastmont’s annual Patriotic
Celebration!
FOREVER YOUNG CHOIR
The Forever Young Choir will join the combined choirs
for our Patriotic Celebration. We will practice Sunday
6/23 from 12-3, and Wednesday 6/25 from 6-7:45.
