A. After reading Chapter 1 of the Module, discuss the following assertions : (maximum of five
sentences for each response)

The NSTP Slab functions as the core of the extension service which guides the Department in
implementing various programs beneficial to the University and the partner community.
Knowing your capability, choose one slab that could exemplify your know-how in helping the
people in the community. Justify.

Education in my opinion is essential and important for us Filipino people. But, education in the Philippines
is still futile up until the present times. After reading the and understanding the different NSTP – Slab I
choose, education. As a college student, I think I am capable enough to share my knowledge to the
people in the community specially those people who are unable to reach a higher educational
attainment. I was able to reach at a certain point where I know for myself that I understand things. There
are certain marginalized community that are illiterate maybe with those simple act such as teaching I will
be able to help them since, I believe in the saying that ‘literacy is a bridge from misery to hope’.
