As a whole, my artwork is mostly made of creature and character design.

The creatures in my work are

usually based off of abstract drawings I doodle beforehand. On the other hand, my characters are
usually based of descriptions of already described characters from different forms of media. Another
common thread with my art is that it’s not colored because I’m not skilled with working with colors.

My work is made up of many different mediums (paint, digital, pen, etc.) and I create these pieces
differentially. If I shade the piece, I usually lean toward more simple forms of shading. Most of the time,
I use Asprite and Photoshop to create my art digitally.

I make these types of art because I’ve always been fascinated with animals and other living things. I
make things to bring life to things that never were alive in the first place. The enjoyment and
complements I get for creating my art is what keeps me going. With characters, I love taking a
description of a person and creating it.

Depending on the art piece, the style can be more realistic or more stylistic. There isn’t a mood or
aesthetic that could describe all of my artwork because of how different some of it is from each other.
Most of the time, I don’t think about following the elements and principles when making my art. I
personally don’t think that if you enjoy your art, you need to follow any rules with it. This is because I
make art for the reason that I enjoy doing it.

My self-portrait assignment is no different. During the creation of the project, I decided to use most of
the forms of art I worked on this year. It contains digital painting, use of the pen tool, a real photo, and
what I made look like the wireframe of a 3d model. Because of all of these things, I believe that this
project reflects my art style.
