ACTION: LAMINATE & POST

MANUAL START BY BATTERY

1. Check the selector switch position; it should be in Manual mode.

Check crankcase oil level and water in radiator. Check fuel oil tank outlet valve is open.
2. Make sure (No: 2) selector switch is in Normal Mode
3. Press start push button on control panel.
4. Check all parameters of Diesel Engine are normal.
5. Check voltage of Generator has established.
6. Close the ACB manually.

MANUAL START BY SPRING STARTER

IN CASE OF STARTING BATTERY FAILURE AND ENGINE NEED TO BE STARTED BY
MANUAL SPRING STARTER, SWITCH TO BE SET ON EMERGENCY.
1. Put off the battery switch.
2. Check the selector switch position, it should be in Manual mode
Check crankcase oil level and water in radiator. Check fuel oil tank outlet valve is open.
4. Pull reset knob (black) and starting lever returns to reset position.
5. Fit cranking handle and wind spring starter by turning clockwise until RED springs are visible from
inspection hole on starter.
6. To start engine, push trip lever down turning 90 degrees. If engine does not start, try again. Normally
engine starts within three attempts.
7. Check voltage of Generator has established.
8. Close the ACB manually.
NOTE: DO NOT START ENGINE WITH BATTERY, WHEN SPRING STARTER IS CHARGED
AND ENGAGED.

AUTOMATIC OPERATION

1. Check the selector switch position, it should be in AUTO mode

2. When Main power fails, no voltage is detected in Emergency Switch Board, Generator starts after
28 seconds.
3. When voltage is established Emergency ACB is automatically closed and power is supplied to
Emergency equipments.
4. When Main Generator power is restored Emergency ACB automatically opens and bus tie ACB is
closed automatically.

BLACK OUT TEST

1. INFORM BRIDGE
2. Ensure the selector switch should be in ‘AUTO’ position.
3. Put sequence test switch inside Emergency Switchboard to “TEST” position or switch off
emergency switchboard supply from main switchboard in ECR.
4. Generator will come on load automatically within 28 secs.
5. Put sequence test switch to ‘NOR’ position or switch on supply from main switchboard in ECR to
emergency switchboard. Emergency generator will be off loaded automatically and normal supply
restored.

MANUAL START BY BATTERY

1. Put the Selector switch (No: 1) Auto to Manual.

2. Make sure (No: 2) selector switch is in Normal Mode.
3. Press Start Button.

1. Put Battery Switch (No: 1) OFF.

2. Put selector Switch (NO: 2) from Auto to Manual.
3. Put Selector switch (No: 3) from Normal to Emergency.
4. Reset the Starting Lever (No: 4)
5. Rotate the Spring Starter (No: 5) Clock wise direction until the coil get energized
(Green to Red indication).
6. Press the Starting Lever down (No: 6) for Start the Engine.
