Areas of strength
Katie is a professional, organised and enthusiastic pre-service teacher. She has a great understanding of
the needs of students and how to effectively implement successful learning sequences. Katie takes on
feedback and works to achieve these goals each lesson. The instructions she gives students are clear
and effective and understands the various needs of students, planning differentiated lessons
accordingly. Katie has implemented many strategies in the five short weeks she has spent in our
classroom and doesn't hesitate to have a go or challenge herself. She has a natural teaching style, the
students respond well to her and we appreciate the hard work she is putting in.
Areas for further development
Katie has been developing her skills in minor areas such as setting expectations early, time
management, smooth transitions and using a 'hook' at the beginning of lessons. She has taken on all

feedback given and will continue to improve as she gets more time to practise these skills.
