Criteria for establishment of blood transfusion facility for 50,000 Blood Bags per year
One transfusion center need to be established for every 100 bedded facility
Where the annual bleeding rate should not exceed 50,000 bags per year (approx. 100- 135 bags per day)
One additional unit will be required if annual bleeding rate exceeds 50,000 bags/year or 135 bleeding bags per day.
