WELCOME SPEECH
AsCNP-ASEAN
It is a great honor and special pleasure for me, as the president of Asia college of
neuropsychopharmacology, to welcome you to Yogyakarta for the 1st AsCNP for ASEAN
International Congress of Neuropsychopharmacology 2019 which will be held in Royal
Ambarrukmo Hotel , Yogyakarta - Indonesia, from February 28th – March 2nd 2019. For the
first time the AsCNP organized congress between the biannual congress for ASEAN region.
Our purpose is to improve the awareness and foster the level of knowledge of the colleague
about neuropsychopharmacology especially in South East Asia. Yogyakarta is believed to
be an excellent setting to focus on discussion under the theme : “Breakthrough in
Neuropsychopharmacology intervention, from ASEAN to global perspective”. Today,
neuropsychopharmacology, either in basic or clinical setting, is one of the most advance
field in psychiatry. The development of clinical research and novel drugs, the current
progress in molecular biology and modern neuroscience, the new nomenclature and perspective of psychotropic
drugs, and still we face the challenges and difficulties in our approach to psychiatry disorders and mental health
care. Moreover, as we progress through the 21st century, the challenges of integrating comorbid physical, mental
and social care, altogether with primary and secondary care, are truly important. We hope that AsCNP for ASEAN
congress 2019 would be the ideal platform to exchange and to promote our innovative knowledge in this field.
Taking this wonderful opportunity, I encourage and invite you to experience the congress and take advantage to
take part in all scientific programs that have been arranged. I believe with your support and participation, we will
make this congress successful and remarkable.
More importantly, please make sure to spend more days to explore the beauty, miracle, culture, and hospitality of
Yogyakarta. With open arms and warm regards, I look forward to seeing you in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and inter-
acting with you both socially and professionally.
Sincerely Yours,
Andi J. Tanra
