Should you read ?
Nowadays some people prefer to read, while others don’t. Some may enjoy reading as a
hobby, and others might read just because they’re told to.I believe that a book can be considered
good if it is a great story with average writing. I preferably like books that deal with mysteries, as
they usually catch my attention and love the feeling of curiosity. Maybe depending on the style
the author is writing may catch a reader's attention or search for content, because some people
like to learn while they read. Some other factors that may lead the reader to want to read is the
book cover itself, as many people do judge a book by its cover.
As mentioned before, people usually read the back of the book to get a feeling and know
that they’re in for a compelling journey. A captivating story and character development are
always key indicators for me, which explains why I would much rather read a book than watch a
movie. The author needs to be able to write the story in a way that attracts a reader and keeps the
reader’s attention. Now we’re viewing this from a perspective, from a person who likes to catch
on to the plot and stay hooked.
Many readers search for a book that contains some sort of lesson or at least teaches them
something they didn’t already know or makes them view the world in a different light. These are
the kind of books that really change people, inspire them and motivate them, these are the kinds
of books that stick in people’s minds.
Some people may enjoy reading newspapers still because they want to stay in touch with
current events that may be occurring around the world. Not only that, but also people like to
know what is happening in their local area and possibly the state they live in. Maybe the most
recent tragic event might catch your attention, or maybe your favorite sports team just won a big
game, news reporters are very good at catching a reader’s attention.
Overall, books and texts can all affect everyone differently. You never know when
someone else might like a book that you don’t. Whether it may be a book, online article, or text,
not everyone is going to like the topics or genres that you may enjoy. We all view things in a
different way and interpret things in a different way as well, maybe that’s why we some of us
don't share common interests. What makes a book worth reading all starts of with your interest.
