HyperMesh
New Features and Enhancements
Connectors
A new option has been added to the spot connectors. It uses normal direction of the closest link
to determine links. In certain situations with many small component patches like rib patterns,
wrong links were identified. With this option activated, the link determination follows a search
direction.
For certain CWELD types the option “centered quad” has been added. If activated, a centered
quad is created on both sides of the CWELD around the projection points. The mesh is very
locally remeshed to satisfy this request. The quad size can precisely be defined.

HyperGraph
Resolved Issues
In complex plots the conversion from real/imaginary to phase/magnitude for db-scaled complex
curves with a reference value will calculate the correct magnitude.
Notes attached to dB-scaled complex curves no longer disappear at the moment a reference
value is assigned to the dB-scaling.
Notes which are attached to a dB-scaled phase/magnitude complex curve with a reference value
now show the corresponding y-axis value when the expression {y} is used and no longer the
unscaled source value.
Notes attached to the magnitude of complex curves will keep their attachment point when a
session is saved and reloaded.
Complex curves based on math references for dB-scaled curves with a reference value were
scaled twice in previous builds. This issue is fixed.
In the Build Plots panel, the pop-up window for X-requests now supports the same filter
features as for Y-requests.
Performance for reader metadata support, which is required to use the Comparison and/or
Highlight Source Entity tools has been improved for files which contain millions of
curves. Specifically:
o For files with less than 300,000 metadata sets, we read the metadata in by default
o For files with more than 300,000 metadata sets we do not read metadata.
o If the user wants to read the metadata for files with more than 300,000 metadata sets,
or skip the reading totally the limit can be adjusted by setting an environment variable
HG_METADATA_LIMIT = <limit number of metadata sets>. There will be a performance
penalty if this setting is utilized with a higher limit.
o For HyperGraph 14.0 we intend to make this environment variable obsolete.
In 13.0, when saving a template after reading a Dyna file that had labels for IDs, both the label
and ID information would be saved in the template file. This caused overlay issues, since the
template tried to match both Label and ID. The behavior has been reverted back to the pre-
13.0 behavior, wherein only the Label information, and not the actual ID, is saved in the
template. The ID now gets added as an attribute of the curve as metadata.

assigned, during conversion the relation is lost. The relation maintained during conversion.
Duplicate property in different include leads to component property lose during import. This has
been fixed.

The algorithm we use to derive the cubic polynomial from the static stiffness data can cause
parts of the cubic to have negative stiffness. Now we warn the user while loading the test data
in to MIT tool.

HyperView
New Features and Enhancements
The text CornerData will be displayed in the legend title if the result plot is generated using
such data. Previous versions of HV did not provide this information in the legend.
Significant improvements have been made to the video overlay (Image Planes) functionality in this
release of HyperView. It is now possible to achieve a good overlay of Model and Video/Image by a
multiple point alignment scheme or by providing the properties of the camera that was used to
capture the image.
The multi-point alignment method has been added as a new tab under the 2D Image Plane section
and it works by allowing the user to pick points (pairs of pixels in the image and corresponding
nodes in the model). A minimum of seven points are required as input. It is also recommended that
points are picked at different depths and preferably towards the center of the image/video. The GUI
will show a dynamically updating error value to indicate to the user the quality of the selected
points. HyperView will then use the points to adjust the model size and orient it in the appropriate
view so that a good alignment is achieved between the model and the image/video.
In addition to the multi-point alignment method, one can also now input the camera position and
camera properties such as focal length, sensor height, if it is available, through the views entity in
the browser. This provides a more direct way of achieving alignment between model and image. A
new projection type under views called Lens has been added for this purpose.
Resolved Issue
Last load case missing in H3D containing envelope of all load cases.
HyperGraph
Resolved Issue
For some ISO files, units for acceleration was picked up as m/sec2 when the units were in g’s.

LS-Dyna Interface
New Enhancements
The cross section entity is newly introduced in 13.0.111. The following keywords are mapped to this
entity: *DATABASE_CROSS_SECTION_SET; *DATABASE_CROSS_SECTION_PLANE. These keywords
were supported prior to 13.0.111 but were mapped to a different entity (Group). Upon import the
following behavior is implemented:
Solver deck: these keywords will be automatically mapped to the new entity without loss
Legacy HyperMesh file: these keywords will be mapped from the old to the new entity without
loss
Note: As this entity is newly introduced in 13.0.111, a HyperMesh file saved in 13.0.111 cannot be read back in
prior versions without loss. The keywords mapped to these new entity will be lost. To reduce the risk of data loss it
is recommended to:
Resolved Issues
*DEFINE_TABLE is not be listed in the curve editor anymore
The transformation applied through *NODE_TRANSFORM were not applied in the correct
sequence
RADIOSS Interface
New Enhancements
Two entities are newly introduced: CrossSection and Box. The following keywords are mapped to
these entities:
CrossSection: /SECT; /SECT/CIRCLE; /SECT/PARAL
Box: /BOX/RECTA (RADIOSS)
Some of the keywords listed above were already supported prior to 13.0.111 but were mapped to a
different entity. Upon import the following behavior is implemented:
Solver deck: these keywords will be automatically mapped to the new entity without loss
HyperWorks Desktop 13.0.114 Release Notes 14
Legacy HyperMesh file: these keywords will be mapped from the old to the new entity without
loss
Note: As these entities are newly introduced in 13.0.111, a HyperMesh file saved in 13.0.111 cannot be read back
in prior versions without loss. The keywords mapped to these new entity will be lost. To reduce the risk of data
loss it is recommended to:
User scripts pointing to the old entity for /SECT can be updated to create the new CrossSection
entity by adding the following lines are the end of the script:
set path [hm_info -appinfo SPECIFIEDPATH
hm_scripts_dir]//radioss//sections//ConvertOldSectionKeywordsToNewCrosssectionKeywords.tcl
source $path;
Full support of /BOX/RECTA:
o This keyword is supported through the introduction of a new entity (BOX)
o Support both the old and new format (RADIOSS V11 and after) of this keyword
o Autofit function allows to automatically compute the size of the box based on the content
that is displayed
o Resolve the renumbering that occurred in both import and export of set of BOX
Full support for /SECT/PARAL and /SECT/CIRCLE:
o Support import, creation and modification of these new type of sections
o Resolved ID renumbering upon import that occurred if a cross section shared the same
ID as a contact for example
o Enhanced graphical representation and review for cross sections
In the find attached subpanel a checkbox allows to take into account tied contacts in the search
for connected elements
HyperCrash
Resolved Issues
The cross section type /SECT/PARAL and /SECT/CIRCLE were translated if a single node
belonging to the element sets referred in those cross sections was selected for move. The
condition has been modified such that the cross section will be moved only if all the nodes of
the elements referred in the cross section are selected for move.
When extracting connections from the model if a connection was found to contain more than 1
part but these parts used the same property/material then some of extracted elements were
deleted from the model
The statistic panel in the LS-Dyna profile showed incorrect information
Organizing entities using the function “move entities to include” in the right click contextual
froze the session
Module States
Option to define multiple state sets and multiple states to each state set
Support for state definition with multiple MPCs and SPCs for each state set

Entry field for run options is Job Submission GUI
Resolved Issues
Issue in two-step TPA for multiple subcases in Force File having different frequency ranges
Issue related to application error during batch mesh coarsening in case where representation
file already had 2D plotels elements
Issue related to automatic change of Connection location type to Custom Location
Issue related to Application Error while defining loading strength in General Frequency Response
Process Manager
