The Course Description in Brief:
This course deals with a short introduction to the main branches for linguistics
in this program such as phonetics, phonology, morphology, semantics and
applied linguistics. This course also gives a brief idea of other branches that are
not studied in this program such as language use and psycho linguistics. Some
theories are simply dealt with as introduction.
The Course Objectives:
Students will get an introduction to the main branches for linguistics in this
program such as phonetics, phonology, morphology, semantics and applied
linguistics. They will also get a cursory idea of other branches that are not
studied in this program such as language use and psycho linguistics.
The Scientific Contents:
1. Study of modern theories in linguistics.
2. Study of modern theories in phonetics.
3. Study of modern theories in psycho linguistics.
4. Study of modern theories in applied linguistics.
The Course Outcomes:

Students will be able to appreciate and understand issues dealt with in
modern language theories.
