All games in the Carroll Cup quarter final groups and all knockout matches
will have a duration of 12 minutes straight through with no change of ends.
‘Last play rule’ as per IFL Madrid Laws of the Game.
The match start times are designed to allow for 'last play' and for teams to have
the time to change over, but we will need cooperation in order for timing to run
smoothly.
Tie-breakers
Any ties will be broken in groups by points, overall goal difference, head-to-head
goal difference and goals scored, in that order.
A dead heat between two or three teams in a quarter final group would be
decided by first round group records in the event that none of the above were
able to separate a tie.
(If a tie remains beyond any of these, the final tie-breaker will be league ranking
– lowest position in the league/unranked goes through at the expense of the
higher-ranked team.)
Group games in the first round and in the quarter final groups may finish as a
draw. Semi finals and finals will be decided by a penalty shootout (best of 5
penalties, then sudden death if necessary) if there is a tie after the 12 minutes. A
penalty shootout will typically take 3-5 minutes to be completed.
