Indy Irish Festival

Formed in 1996, the Indy Irish Festival seeks to preserve, promote and nurture Irish

culture, arts, music, sports and history. The Indy Irish Festival is an annual September festival to

share and celebrate Irish culture and heritage with cultural activities, performances, art display,

and food. The festival supports many charities as it uses funds raised to donate to many local

organizations and charities as well as its partner St. Vincent de Paul food bank. The Indy Irish

Festival committee strives to make a meaningful impact in the Indianapolis community.

Irish Dancers of Indianapolis

Through volunteerism and teamwork, the Irish Dancers of Indianapolis work to cultivate

a unified environment that supports their dancers and goals, while also overcoming financial

obstacles through fundraising events and to provide cultural enrichment to our community

through dance. The Irish Dancers of Indianapolis produced many competition champions while

also promoting a family-friendly environment.

Irish Arts Academy of Indianapolis

The Irish Arts Academy of Indianapolis develops all generations of traditional Irish

musicians, dancers and linguistics. Through education and performance, the Irish Arts Academy

enriches its students in Irish culture and art. The academy offers a wide variety of Irish dance,

language, and music classes to suit all student’s passion.

Kitchen Party Ceilidh

The Kitchen Party Ceilidh is a weekly hour-long radio show showcasing Celtic music, as

well music from Scotland, Cape Breton and Canada, the US, Brittany, the Isle of Man, Cornwall,

Spain, Scandinavia and Indianapolis. The show is hosted and founded by Dave Bagdade, an
award-winning multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and author. Dave is also the founder of the Irish

Arts Academy of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA)

The Indianapolis Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) focuses on spreading Irish culture

through sport. The GAA offers a variety of sports such as hurling, camogie, and Gaelic football.

Their teams compete in both and inner-city league, local tournaments, and national tournaments

while maintaining a social and friendly environment.

Ancient Order of the Hibernians Indianapolis (AOH)

The Ancient Order of the Hibernians promote Irish Catholic Culture in Indiana through their

charitable efforts. The AOH also seeks to tighten bonds of friendship and unity within their

members through various social events. The Indianapolis branch is part of an organization of

AOH who’s roots can be traced back to the mid 1500’s in Ireland.
