I. Learning Intent/Objective

At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:


1. Recognize environmental print by identifying different road signs
2. Explain the meaning of the different road signs
3. Use appropriate road signs in given situations
4. Appreciate the importance of road signs around them

II. Subject Matter: Environmental Print (Road Signs)

Essential Understanding:
 It is important to understand the meanings and to follow the different road
signs around us to stay safe, be in order, and to do the right things.
 Good leaders are good followers.

A. Focus Instruction

a. Activation of Prior Knowledge


“What can you say about the pictures shown?”
“Do they mean something?”
“Where are they usually seen?”

b. Linking Statement
The pictures shown are some of the common road signs we see every day.
They are examples of environmental prints. Today, we are going to identify the
different road signs and appreciate how important they are as we learn about
the meaning of each.
B. Guided Instruction

Environmental Print
It is the print we see every day,
may it be at home, on the roads, or in
school, in the form of logos and signs.

What are road signs?


They are signs giving information or
instructions found on the road.

 Guiding Questions:
1. Where can we usually see environmental prints?

2. Why is it important to understand the meanings of the different road signs

3. Aside from the given examples, can you give other road signs and their
meanings?

C. Guided Practice

1. Activity: Gallery Walk

Instructions:
1. Before the activity, the class will be divided into 4 groups with 5 members
in each group.
2. Each group will give and discuss examples of road signs.
3. Each group must have 3 examples with no duplications from the other
groups.
4. One member is assigned as the illustrator, another one as the speaker, and
the rest will go to other groups to ask questions.
5. The class will be given 30-minute preparation.
6. 15 minutes will be allotted for the simultaneous presentation.
7. The 3 members who are tasked to ask questions must take down notes for
the processing of the activity later.

 Guiding Questions:
1. Was the activity hard or easy? What made it easy/hard?
2. Were you able to gather the needed information?
3. Did you find it difficult to do the task assigned to you?
4. What are the different road signs that were presented by each group?

1. There is a mass going on in the chapel near the road.

people walking along and crossing the road so
vehicles should slow down.

3. All types of vehicles should not park in this area to


avoid traffic and untoward incidents.

4. No vehicle should enter to avoid traffic.

5. Smoking or vaping is not allowed in this area.
