On a large poster board draw or print out printables for different destinations (school,
grocery store, houses, church, fire station, police station, park, etc.) with winding roads.
Provide small toy cars, trucks, and buses. Let them color and decorate the city. The
students drive along the roads to the different destinations. They also describe where they
going as they drive their vehicles.

3. Paint and decorate milk cartons or small boxes and glue them onto the map to make
buildings.
4. Instead of a city map, draw a map of your yard, your house or your child's bedroom.
5. On a very large sheet of paper, draw an imaginary city map big enough for your child’s toy
cars and trucks.
6. Tape the finished city map to the floor so your child can travel around the city with his
cars, trucks, dolls, and fire engines.
