Technology and physiotherapist

About 30 million children and teens participate in some form of organized sports, and

more than 3.5 million injuries happen each year. Physiotherapy teaches pain management

techniques, improving quality of life and allowing you to get back to the activities which you

enjoy the most. A physiotherapist is qualified to treat disease, injury, or deformity by physical

methods such as massage, heat treatment, and exercise. Meaning physiotherapist are changing

and helping lives every day.

A physiotherapist has specific duties and responsibilities, as well as treating patients, the

doctors also promote the patients’ health and wellbeing and provide advice on how to avoid

injury and self-manage long-term conditions. Patients can include children, the elderly, stroke

patients and people with sports injuries. Thanks to modern technology, medical science is

advancing at a pace matchless at any point in history. The technology that physiotherapist use

involves the use of multiple cameras and sensors to capture scientifically accurate data,

measuring movement patterns in real time. This analysis unearths information which is then used

to build exercise plans tailor made to the individual.

To be a Physical therapist you need a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. All

states require physical therapists to be licensed. Licensing requirements vary by state but all

include passing the National Physical Therapy Examination administered by the Federation of

State Boards of Physical Therapy. Physical therapists work with patients to provide physical

rehabilitation. Some may wish to use their experience to pursue manager positions; or further

their education to work as a specialized physical therapist or a physician. They can become

certified hand therapist, a Physical therapy manager, Rehabilitation services director and even an

orthopedic surgeon. The average Physiotherapist salary in Canada is $72,638 per year or $37.25
per hour, Entry level positions start at $31,491 per year while most experienced workers make up

to $97,500 per year or up to $117,812 and more.

Being a Physiotherapist is more than just a job it’s about helping others, and sometimes

yourself. Physiotherapy helps people. A clear reason why you might study Physiotherapy is to

help those who are in pain. Serious health problems like cystic fibrosis and arthritis can be

effectively treated with physiotherapy, and to be able to exercise the skills which make this

possible and help is a great job to have.
