Profile Essay by Group 2

I never imagine my life to be such a roller coaster ride. When I met my friend Princess, my life

turns out to be thrilling and exciting. He was standing at the corner of Illustre Street wearing a

beautiful dress with his hair so straight and shiny like a lace and bunch of colorful shades on

her face. Princess has a certain appeal that every man wants. I really thought that the person

standing at the corner of the street was a beautiful princess but when I came nearer reality hit

me hard. We are of the same circle, we are one of those people who call ourselves “professional

worker”.

A I start my journey with him in my new job I had my best customer. I also noticed the different

kind of determination to earn a living his living. In every potential customer he was trying his

best to catch their attention. When he convinced me to try what she always do, I find it arduous

to gain some customer for my first day.

He said “uy dai bantog ra dili ka makakuhag customer! Tan-awa ra pa gud na imung gisuot!

Pambua sad na uy! Syarog di daghan gusto mu avail sa imuhang service! Gamita imung pagka

gwapa uy. Tara tabangan takag make-up kay basi kasab-an ka ni mayora ani. Sus! Madamay

ko ani bye life na jud!”

Like he always does, he has a secret weapon in making his self astonishingly beautiful. He lets

me borrow her extra dress to transform me into a gorgeous princess just like her. When she let

me face in her pocket mirror, my eyes keep blinking. I never expected to appear just like this,

I turned to be just like her.

One time when we are looking for customer, I saw a bunch of teenagers wearing white blouse

and green skirts passing through us. One of those girls dropped her ID, Princess picket it up for

her and mumbled “sus ka tanga nalang nimo bataa, mao na chika chika pa tan-awa nahulog

imong ID”. He was holding the girl’s ID, he suddenly paused and stared blankly. He

remembered that his parents wanted him to finish his studies and to graduate with honors. He

wanted to become a flight attendant but she realized how expensive it is for the training. The

training itself would cost 18 thousand pesos while even a single school project that cost 1

hundred pesos they cannot afford. He doesn’t want to fool himself nor his family believing he

can graduate from college. His father wanted him to work as a kargador but of course he

doesn’t want her feminine body to suffer from ache and bruises or even his beautiful colored

fingernails to get faded. He escaped the reality of her life and started to promise himself to

make money in an easy way and be the one who she really wanted to be.

“Huy dae! Ayaw pagtanga dira oi! Ayaw ko ingna na gigwapahan ka anang babae diraa sa

picture”, I said with sarcasm to wake her up to reality.

“suus puryagaba! Bisan pa ug si Angel Locsin na dili jud ko mupatol kaluod ra tawon!! Shubi

kayo dili mutindog si junior ana!” Princess immediately exclaimed.

We suddenly stopped out chitchat when Kate, our work mate, arrived with sweat dripping all

over his face.

“uy dae! Nganong karun lng man ka? Waz najud kay customer ana! Dara oh pag retouch diraa

dili na itsura imuhang nawong! Pagdali para mahalin paka!” Princess said.

“Sus! Na unsa naman gud ning Davao na perti naman ka traffic. Na unsa lupig pa’y Manila

lage” Kate explained.

Before entering this kind of “professional work” as we called it, Princess worked in a parlor

but it only lasted for two days then she went to Manila. He realized that he can earn his one-
month salary in just two nights for giving pleasure service for exchange of money. He would

dress himself beautifully and wait in the streets of Malate for his customers. One night, she

received a phone call asking to avail his services at a lounge in Malate. She dressed up excitedly

knowing she would receive a higher rate. Princess arrived in the lounge and he entered the

room. When he opened the door, he saw a tall man wearing a black suit that hides his skin. In

less than a minute they are both naked without having a single conversation. They are both laid

in bed and the both of them wanting for more. More than just a kiss or touch in their body, they

wanted to be one. Princess started to give the man oral sex and he immediately notices that his

manhood was bigger than the normal size. He was shocked because given the nature of his

work he was used to seeing different sizes of manhood but it’s his first time seeing a manhood

reaching 13 inches in length. The man wanted to have anal sex with him, Princess said that

they should use a condom for protection but to his surprise the condom only covered the head

of the man’s manhood and it didn’t even covered the half part of it. As the man slowly puts his

manhood unto Princess, she cried out loud because she knew that the whole of it could not get

in. After that horrible night, Princess got sick and decided to go back to Davao City to get an

operation for anus.

We were still in the street and it was already 1 am when a van passed in front of us. We saw a

group of boys inside but only one of them got out and asked Princess.

“Hi gwapa pwede mangutana? Asa dapit anf Bangkerohan? Nasaag man gud mmi. Dili pud mi

taga Davao. Kabalo ka Gwapa? Princess did not answer so I joined the conversation. “ Ay sir.

Kanang straight lang mo sir human makakita mog palengke didto. Mao ng Bangkerohan” I told

the guy. The guy replied “ Salamat kayo gwapa ha. Tabangi ng kauban nimo diha na gwapuhan

sigurog taman sa akua wala na katubag hahahhaha”.

When the van left I asked Princess what happened. “ Ay wala day uy natulala lng kog pina

abtik” Princess answered. “Ngano wala man jud ka nitubag? Unsay naa?” I insisted.

I insisted and insisted until I discovered something that gave me chills. It was that time when

she was about to book a customer but a van suddenly stopped at them. It was a group of Muslim

guys inside the van who forcedly pull them inside the van. While they are inside the van a

Muslim guy pointed a caliber 45 gun at him. Princess began to tremble in fear leaving him no

choice but to follow their orders. When they reached a secluded area in Marfori they got out of

the van. The Muslims forced them to give them pleasure and because of fear they followed

their order. As Princess performed an oral sex on a Muslim guy, he saw the other Muslims

force his co-worker to have anal sex with them. They continue to give them satisfaction fearing

for their lives because a 45 caliber gun was pointed at them. At the time they are finished, the

Muslims just left them in the streets. That experience still hunts Princess in his sleep and gave

him a trauma.

Silence overruled the place. In order to lift up Princess’ mood I exclaimed “ uy dai tama na ang

drama, back to work na. sayang kaayo ang oras. Wala pa ta customer ba, wala jud tay pagkaon,

pangsigarilyo, ug pangpills. Ma losyang ta ani hhahaha”.

While waiting in the peaceful streets in Illustre, a family suddenly passed in front of us. The

father was scolding his son making the child cry. I remembered those time when Princess

shared some of his life experience. Those times when she was never accepted by her family

especially in the case of his father because of his feminine heart. All he ever wanted was to be

accepted by his family and the society to the point where he was forced to leave their house in

Buhangin because of his gender preference.

We suddenly stopped when a group of teenagers running towards our direction with a paddle,

a bag full of urine and stone in their hands.

“Bayot! Mga salot sa lipunan! Patyon nato!” they said loudly.

“DAI!! YAWA! DAGAN! GUKURON TAG MGA RUGBY BOYS!” Princess shouted.

“ASA MAN?! ASA?!” I replied while looking around.

“TURA OH! PADULONG NA SA ATO! BUTA KA? DAGHAN NAAAA!” she shouted

while pointing at the rugby boys.

We don’t have a choice but to run to save our lives. We are running like we were in a marathon

and trying to get the first prize. The experience reflects as a society that we still keep on trying

to survive even if we were a lot of prejudice and discrimination as one of the outcast who were

trying to stand firm and go with the flow even if it limits our freedom, our rights, our life and

future.

We did not notice that we were already at the Maisan in Bangkerohan and we were hardly

catching our breaths and it was already 4:00 am. We need to go back to Illustre to get our things

up because no matter how hard we attempt to escape and stop this kind of job. We ended up

doing things the same things again and again. This keep us alive, this job sustain our needs.
