building with a total area of 8.924,14 m2,
with complete electromechanical installa-
tions, b) the Fire Station building with a
total area of 497m2, and c) the landsca-
ping of the new terminal, with a surface
area of 42,000 m2, at the state Airport of
New Anchialos, which is located in the
prefecture of Magnesia.
The construction project will address the
needs of Thessaly as well as the broader
region serving the transport of tourists
and passengers from abroad. At the same
time, it will help connect Thessaly with air
links to other internal destinations.
The new terminal is scheduled to serve al-
most all of the region’s sports activities du-
ring the 2013 Mediterranean Games.
The architectural design of the project was
based on international standards for peo-
ple with disabilities so as to provide for ea-
sy access to the car park, the sidewalk and
the airport’s terminal building. They have
also provided special parking places.
