Reduce the poverty with the help of the government

“Being poor are not simple. It’s expensive”. Not planning for the future but planning for the
present situation. They have to make money and use it wisely as long as possible. They could not
own anything like luxury things even basic needs people are struggling to have it. Always
thinking what they can sacrifice to save money because spending it can cause them anxiety and
uncomfortable. This poverty makes life difficult and stopped poor people achieving their dreams.
Poverty has been a serious problem over the centuries. Every year, there are millions of people
suffering because of the poverty. We know that this poverty is a problem but every problem has
a solution. We can reduce the poverty with the help of the government by giving their children’s
education, more jobs opportunity and motivating people to improve their selves.

For the World Bank Organization poverty is hunger, lack of shelter, being sick, struggling
having access to school, not having a job, fear for the future and living one day at a time. Poverty
is about struggling having money to meet the basic needs especially food, clothing and shelter.
The whole world suffering what poverty is. According to the World Bank projections that the
global poverty may have reached 700 million or 9.6 percent of global population in 2016 and
those who are living on less than $1.25 per day, half of them have electricity. While according to
the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) the poverty statistics of the
Philippines increased in the first 6 months of the year 2014 and from the data of the Philippine
Statistics Authority (PSA)’s Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS) they discover that the
poverty of the Philippines rose in a percentage points of 25.8 percent in the first semester of
2014. According to the Social & Economic Injustice, the 40 percent of the world's population
living in extreme poverty, and more than 1.3 billion people, or about 21 percent of the world
population, is living on $1 to survive every day. Based on statistics world are suffering poverty
and we must to reduce or eliminate it.

One of the things the government can do to reduce the poverty is giving children’s education.
There’s a saying that the most powerful weapon is education because you can change the world
through it. We know that education is very important because it’s one of the paths to have a
better future. Having an opportunity to learn, the poor people can improve their life. The
government must provide a free text books and needs of the student so that their parents can use
the money to other important things. Through the investigation of organization of the Global
Partnership for education they revealed how beneficial an education can be to one’s country.
And it says that one of the effective strategies to defeat the poverty is an individual education.
The organization explains that it has many positive aspects. It can help the individual to provide
themselves or their family, help sustain the economic growth and fight against corruption.
Scholarships can also help the students and their parents to have an easier life. According to the
UNESCO education can prevent the transmission of poverty to the next generations. And it has a
good effect on environmental protection and economic development. Therefore, education has a
power that can reduce the poverty among poor people.

Besides that, the government can help to reduce the poverty through giving more job
opportunities. Jobs can improve people’s quality of life. According to the International Monetary
Fund the government should increase the job opportunities in the Philippines to take advantage
of the growing labour force and pull down the poverty incidence. Based on the latest data of IMF
the poverty incidence of the Philippines fell to 24.9 percent from 27.9 because of the
improvement in unemployment rate from 7.6 percent to 7 percent and this reflects that there are
1.7 million additional employed persons. And to generate income we must meet the gainful
employment. We can reduce the poverty of the Philippines because gainful employment is one of
the effective and important things of poverty reduction methods. The government can also help
the poor people through donations or what we called economy welfare. And this welfare is one
of the steps to reduce the poverty among the poor people.

Lastly, we can improve the poverty by motivating the people to improve their selves’ through
conducting a motivation to change the perceptions of the people towards poverty. Giving a
financial aid to the poor people is not a good strategy to reduce poverty. The government should
try another way to help the poor people to overcome poverty because poor people don’t only
need money. They need to overcome indigence by teaching or improving their skills. One of the
government can do is to involve the people in agriculture business or giving them some capital to
start or make their own business. And teach them how to use the money in the right way so that
they can stand now for their own goods. Therefore, all people must use wisely all the
contribution that has been made or gave by the government and no matter what, the thing we
must do to change our life is effort.

As a conclusion, we should not give up if we really want to achieve our own goals. We can
reduce or eliminate this poverty in a lot of ways. We will have a better future if all the people
will know and use wisely the benefits what the government had been given to us. To reduce this
poverty issues among our country the one who should play this important role is the government.
Not only the government but we should not underestimate or categorize people based on their
ways of life. People need skills to run into obstacles and not only money so that the poor people
will gain an ability to improve our country which are trapped in poverty.
