Greetings,
And welcome back to all our
old customers and new ones, who have
recently joined the world of roses and
other form of nature. The love for roses
does not require any description and
that is why rose’s are considered to be
the king or as I would say Emperor of
this world. You travel anywhere in the
world and you will find rose lovers
everywhere. Some admire their beauty
in their lawns while other’s enjoy it in
public gardens. We are proud that we
are a part of this lovely and beautiful rose world.
Friends Rosery is a family owned business and has been growing roses for more
than 50 years now, serving our valuable customers from the time of planting till bloom. I,
Vishal Agarwal am the 3rd generation who is continuing to grow good healthy and quality
roses along with many other plants. My grandfather started this rosery with the aim of
providing quality and true to type roses. Our quality till date is unmatched and is not less
than international standards. He attained a very highly respectable name in rose world in
a very short time. Then my father improved the techniques and methodology in rose
growing and besides roses he also introduced many foliage and other exotic plants. My
mother is also a part of this rose world and she specializes in Bonsai making and offers
Bonsai making classes. Over the recent years my family have introduced many
international and as well as Indian rose varieties to thrive in your garden which we till
date do.
Besides roses, we also grow Bougainvillea’s, Waterlilles, Adeniums, Euphorbia
Milli, Cactus & Succulents, House plants including – Spathyphyllum, Opiopogen,
Aspidistra’s, Diffenbachia, Aglaonema, other aroids, etc.
We are also into Vermicomposting and Apiculture. So now we can provide our customers
with natural pure Honey (sometimes with the essence of roses in it).
Recent additions at our farm – We have a new companion at our farm now. He is
our new guard named YO-YO (dog breed – Dobermann) to look after things in our
absence and is currently giving company to our previous guard Carlos. We have also
started growing capsicum, tomatoes and other seasonal flowering plants and generally
sell them as seedlings and few as mature plants.
We have improved our irrigation system by installing sprinklers,foggers and drip.
It is helping us on all the front of horticulture. One big addition last year with us was
1000sq.m poly house. Its of great help and our adeniums specially are loving it. Although
in summers we have to be very very carefully as temperature’s goes above 50 + degree
and our plants feel the heat. Performance of roses was also enhanced this year in
polybags and we are still working on them to improve their quality.

Over the recent years the cost of production, labour, irrigation, pesticides and
insecticides have increased tremendously. And it is hard for us to hold back the prices.
Inspite of these odds we still offer our rose plants at a reasonable rate. Although some
may find it on the higher side but we are not ready to compromise with our quality &
standards. And further more our list of satisfied customers claim it to be worthwhile.
It is always a delight for us to see rose lovers and plant lovers at our farm, guiding
them through this fascinating world of roses as well as other plants. So all are welcome
with family and friends to enjoy this beautiful world of nature.

Ques : Why my roses fail ?
Ans : Every year we are asked 1000’s of times that “our roses just didn’t respond”.
We at Friend’s Rosery take very good care of our roses and before delivering
them to customers we spray our rose bushes with proper chemicals so they
thrive in your gardens. Now the main question -
It could be due to the following reasons
1) Improper planting.
2) Using of excess chemicals at the time of planting.
3) Using of undecomposed manure
4)use of neem cake.
4) Insufficient watering.
Ques : How & when to fertilize ?

Ans : Fertilizing is in itself a whole chapter but don’t get disheartened as its not a rocket
science. Whenever your gardening instincts tell you, your plant is growing give it
a little dose of fertilizer. REMEMBER chances are you might kill your plant with
an overdose, so its better to provide them with fertilizer in low dose.
Ques : When to Prune my roses ?

Ans : Pruning should be done just before the start of growing season. In North, at our
place we generally recommend and do our pruning in mid of October.
Ques : What height should we prune ?

Ans : This depends on your type of rose plant. Give a minute and look at your plant
before pruning ,ask your gardening instincts how you want your plant to look ?
Pruning cannot be generalized at a certain height. And should be done according
to your plant vigour, type, soil & climate and of course your whims.
Ques : Why my roses DIE after pruning ?

Ans : This is because of a fungal disease called “ Die Back”. Use of fungicide is
recommended.plant should be thoroughly covered with fungicide.
Ques : Flower buds appear on my plant but they fail to open up ?

Ans : Sometimes in peak winters it is due to a phenomenon called “Balling”. In this the
flower buds appear but they do not open and eventually in a couple of days rots.
Also this could be because your plant needs more food and or extreme low temp.
Ques : What kind of soil is good for roses ?

Ans : Roses are heavy feeder and require good amount of nourishment. They prefer a
good rich porous soil which is having a pH of 6.5 to 7.

Orders :
Please print name and complete address. If the goods are to be sent in baskets,
please write legibly the name of railway station to which the goods are to be booked.
While ordering please send full remittance including transportation, packing and
forwarding expenses which usually works out to be 35% of the cost of roses. This
percentage does not apply to foreign orders. Plants will be sent only on receipt of full
advance including packing, forwarding and freight. Outstation orders for less than
Rs 1000.00 will have minimum packing, forwarding and freight of Rs 350.00. Varieties
less than minimum quantity mentioned cannot be supplied.
Please write variety name in alphabetical order. All orders are strictly according
to first come first served basis. The dispatch will commence subject to weather conditions
of Lucknow.
We do not substitute unless specifically instructed.
Remittance :
Payment may be sent by Demand Draft, M.O. or bankers cheque payable to
“Friends Rosery”, Lucknow. It is requested that payment below Rs 300.00 may not be
made by cheques. On outstation cheques & cash deposit please add Rs 50.00 extra
towards Bank Charge. You can also deposit directly in our Bank of India account

Claims :
All orders are very carefully put up. We have no control after delivery of our
goods to the carriers. Our responsibility ceases after delivery to the carriers. In the event
of delay, damage occurring en route or for shortages, claims should be put up within 7
days of the receipt of goods.
We check our plants thoroughly and spray each of them with necessary
insecticides and fungicides before dispatching and pack them well.
Air & rail freight have considerably increased. We cannot take any responsibility
for losses due to delay in transit.
Replacements :
Our stock will give above average satisfaction when planted correctly under
normal conditions. We are ready to replace any plant material reported to be in poor
condition and rectify other mistakes in filling orders if we are informed within 7 days
from the receipt of the parcel. If we are unable to replace in the same season replacement
will be given in the following season. There will be no cash refund. There will be no
replacement of budding eyes.
There will be no replacement of replacements. Extra charges for packing and
freight of replacement plants have to be borne by the customer and remitted in advance.
There will be no replacement of plants supplied to Government Institutions,
Public Undertakings, Nurseries or those who buy plants with earth balls.
In all matter the jurisdiction of Lucknow Court will be final.
Budding eyes available at a price of six eyes for the cost of a plant from March

What to expect ?
We ship bare – rooted roses. By bare rooted roses we mean your roses will be having
strong stems and a good and healthy root system along with a name tag of the variety.
But they won’t be having any soil. Basically these are specially packed roses, for making
transportation easy.
Few people are worried that planting a bare root rose is not good and plants don’t
survive. This is not the case. If planted with proper care and instruction your roses will
surely survive and not only survive will provide you abundant joy with their pretty
blooms.
