Education:

I started studding media during secondary school when I chose it for one of my GCSE options, I
studied it for two years. During this time we looked into advertising techniques as well as film
trailers and what makes them effective. At the end of the course we had to create our own film
trailer, I created one for the horror genre, I was proud of it at the time but I know that I could do a
lot better now, in the end I achieved the grade B. I then moved on to study creative media at Henley
College where I am currently. At college I have learnt a lot about the industry through talks from
professionals as well as my own research and information I have been told by my teachers. I have
also acquired a lot of new skills and knowledge whilst being at collage through making my own
productions, I have learnt the processes that go into making productions and I have got quite good
at carrying out the process myself, one aspect that I am really good at is research because I have
gain a good understanding of how to analysis videos and other sources of information and I have
also realised the importance of research to a production during my time here. My practical skills
have also improved greatly I have learnt how to produced high quality productions through making
many different types throughout my time at college. Two of my strongest skills are camera work and
editing, I only found that I was good at camera work when I received feedback on my final major
project at the end of my first year, I have a good understanding of how to frame shots well and when
to use what angles as I know what that suggest. Editing is also one of my strong points as it is
something I have been passionate about since the start because it is my favourite part of the whole
production process as it allows me to be creative and it is when I get to put my vision of the
production together. I am constantly learning new editing techniques as you need to use different
skills for each production you make.

Experience:

I started making videos on YouTube with my friend when I was about 13, I helped him to film many
video and even feature in some of them, and I aided him with the camera work as well as setting up
the lighting and microphones, it started out very basic but got more advanced as time went on and
we started using things like drones. I made my first own production in 2017 when I made a trailer for
GCSE, since starting college I have created six of my own productions, these consisted of two short
films, a documentary, an advert, a music video and a radio drama. Apart from this the other
experience I have in media is when I create short skateboarding video with my friends that we share
on social media.
