Thank you 聽 Akshay Tiwari 聽 bhaiya for the request to answer. I'm a
huge fan of your writing! <3

Let's play a little game.

Answer these easy questions if you can.

鈥?/p>

 What is your name?

 How old are you?
 2+2=?
 Do you have any siblings?
 In which class do you study?
 What are the subjects that you study?
 Which subject do you like the most?
You were able to answer 聽 all of the above questions.聽 Weren't you?
Now ask,

WHY?

WHY WERE YOU ABLE TO ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS SO

ACCURATELY?

There is a logic behind this. The thing is, when i asked you those
questions,You understood all the questions perfectly.聽 That is why you
didn't say your age when i asked your name. You answered only what
was asked. No more, no less.

It means that,

YOUR CONCEPT IS 100% CLEAR.聽 You have a brain like everyone else.
You are not inferior.

YOU ARE BRILLIANT!!!

Now, How is it related to studies and toppers?

If i ask you 聽 what 聽 is quantum chromodynamics(QCD)?聽 you 聽

might be sitting with mouth open, blank. This is because your
CONCEPT is not clear regarding qcd. That is why you didn't answer
it. And If the same question would come in your exam, then you would
have scored 0 and someone might have scored full. This is whom you
would call 聽 TOPPER!
But this doesn't mean that you are a weak student, you just need to
give time and you will also become a 聽 topper.

The secret to top is crystal like clear concepts. The secret

is to make these questions answerable as easy as day to day
questions that you come across. Though you might have heard
this but this is underrated. A lot.

That is why toppers spend a majority of time in understanding theory

and spend lesser amount of time in numericals, which are nothing but
questioning your theoretical understanding in number form.

Pay attention to clear your concepts. If you did not understand from
the book, ask your teacher or go to YouTube but never underestimate
conceptual clarity.

One of my teacher said, 鈥淵 ou might learn this in future that

STUDYING IS THE EASIEST THING TO DO. What you have to do is to
only sit comfortably and read something. DONE!鈥?/b>Truly said.
Also,

 Developing a habit 聽 is very important. Make a habit, stick to it.

You should have a fixed sleeping and waking up time. Your mind
will become comfortable or else you would trouble yourself daily.

 Study as if you are to teach someone. In my case, whenever i lack

clarity in any topic, i find a classmate who also haven't understood
the topic and i tell him that I'll explain you the next day(*if he
wants to). Then i study with a mindset that i have to explain it to
somebody so i must be knowing everything to tackle his doubts. I
watch YouTube lectures and study from the books and 鈥 'm done.
It's one of the most effective method.聽 It's a business where there
are only profits to both sides and absolutely no losses.

 You need not study the whole day!聽 This is a common

misconception among us that toppers study the entire day(*few
exceptions present). Instead, they study smartly and do other
activities as well. The best example is 聽 Roman Saini 聽 sir whom i
am greatly inspired from. He says that he studied for about 7-8
hours a day, and also learnt playing guitar alongside(watch his ted
talk). He is not nobody, he has achieved something that a lot of
people in India wants to become desperately. He got selected in
AIIMS Delhi and also, he cleared UPSC to become an IAS Officer. He
has co founded a great platform for upsc and other competitive
exam aspirants with 聽 Gaurav Munjal 聽 sir, UNACADEMY. I also
aspire to become a civil servant and believe me, they are the best!
Roman sir says that you should sleep for 8 hours, study for 8 hours and
do whatever you want for the next 8 hours. There is no exam that
cannot be cleared by studying 6-8 hours daily.
 Plan your day wisely.聽 Keep in mind that you might not want
to study the time you've written in your time table. So, best thing
is to 聽 not make a time table. Instead, write the things you want
to complete on that day(importance wise) and also write approx
no. Of hours to be given. Try this. Works wonder. You will not get
disheartened like before for not doing things as per your time table.
Remember that we are like cars.聽 Just like cars need fuel to run,
similarly,聽 WE NEED A STRONG REASON TO STUDY.聽 If you do not
have some, all the things are worthless.

Fuel your ambition.

SOME INSPIRING PICTURES TO PUMP YOU UP.

 Dreams are not what you see when you're asleep, dreams are
SOMETHING that doesn't let you sleep.
-late dr. Apj Abdul Kalam.
 My own written..TAKE THAT FIRST STEP TOWARDS
SUCCESS!!

 Just do it.
 KEEP MOVING..KEEP IMPROVING. NEVER SETTLE!!

 Study for the day when you don't have to look at the price tags
and your bank balance looks like a phone number.
 Work hard in silence, let your SUCCESS make some noise!

 Never ever give up!!!

 Get out of this trap!

 Go on a path to legendary success.

 Take your dreams seriously.
 Get up, work the HARDEST you can.

 Win
 Make yourself important

 To shine like a sun, first burn like a sun.

Have 聽 a 聽 better 聽 You 聽 ahead!!

-Ritik

Over and out.

Here are my top 5 rules for studying -

Never discuss with your friends

My friend called me one night before the exam to ask about the
preparation. I told him that one unit is left. He asked whether we have
to carry graph or they will provide?

I said 鈥渨 hat graph?!鈥?/p>

For guys - Never do group study

When girls do group study that means something productive will come
out of that activity. But guys make group study like parliament
discussions, totally off the topic.

After a while, you can find them browsing Instagram profile of a

random girl and never ask how they find out that one!

Don 鈥?b style="font-weight: bold;">t study while lying on bed

You will eventually lost between all those books and notes. Your
creativity will take over.

Sometimes I wonder if they have already created wireless charger,

why is it taking so long to create chargerless wire.

Judge the book by it's size, not cover!

Thumb rule of every backbencher:

If the book weighs more than 750gm then it's impossible to finish it.
So yeah, size does matter!
I will look it in the morning

This is similar to saying 鈥淎 cche din aane wale hai 鈥?(Good days are
coming). No matter how many times you'll say it, it's never going to
happen.

Your 4:30 a.m. alarm will somehow convert to 7:30 a.m. and you'll
be surprised!

Danger! Danger! Danger!

These are my rules. Works well for me. I get output proportional to my
input.

1. Procrastinate. A lot 聽: I tend to delay my exam preparations.

This creates pressure on me to work on my fullest efficiency. When
I sit down finally, I can go north of 6 hours at a stretch with 0
distractions. But again, I get little time to revise and sleep (which
is painful and wrong, but!)
2. The 鈥淭 erms 鈥?/b>: If you are planning to leave some lessons
try to mug up some words, terms, graphs, drawings so that you
can write random things and fill the paper. You can ask for some
marks for your bullshit because it had 鈥渢 hat 鈥?term.
3. Discussion: I tend to revise through discussion with my friends in
hostel. It really speeds up my revision and help me remember more.
It works! They would explain long concepts quickly and I do the
same for them.
4. Not giving up: I have a habit to not give up till the last moment.
I cry and cry because of my syllabus and because I hate my branch
but I 鈥檒 l pull all nighters just to be satisfied with my preparation.
It doesn 鈥檛 mean I top my papers but it gives me that satisfaction
of hardwork.
5. Overconfidence: yeah! It works for me. The more overconfident
I pretend (after preparations) better my paper turns out. I keep
100% faith in me.
Regards,

Panditji

Answered Nov 19 聽路聽 Upvoted by 聽 Sophia Wang,聽 studies at The High School
Experience (2022)

Over the past few months, I 鈥檝 e had to change my study habits in

order to adjust to the academic rigor at Hopkins.
At first, I thought I could just transfer the study habits I used in high
school and continue to be successful. However, after a C on my first
chemistry midterm, I knew I needed to craft new study habits.

Here are my new rules.

 I always attempt the problem before giving up and looking up

the answer.聽 For most of my classes, I rented the optional solutions
manual. In the beginning of the semester, I would give up very
easily and glance at the solutions manual for help. However, when
I would see a similar problem on the exam, I would end up missing
it because I had no idea how to solve it. Using the solutions manual
or online help, like Slader, will benefit you in the short term by
saving you time but will harm you later when similar problems are
on the exam. Struggle now, and you 鈥檒 l benefit later.
 I 鈥檓 wary of group studying.聽 Again, I studied and did
problem sets with friends in the beginning of the semester. The two
major benefits were that I was getting through my homework very
quickly due to the extra brains and I was growing new friendships.
The two major cons, though, were that we often got very
distracted and wasted time and I often relied on others to solve the
difficult problems instead of tackling them on my own. As a result,
when I saw difficult problems on the exams, I didn 鈥檛 know how
to solve them. Be wary of group studying.
 I don 鈥檛 study in my room.聽 In high school, I only studied in
my room because that 鈥檚 where my desk was. When I tried
studying in my dorm at Hopkins, I realized I would just clean my
room all the time instead of studying. Now, I make the trek to the
library or the UTLs (undergraduate teaching labs), and my
productivity has soared.
 If I don 鈥檛 know something, YouTube does.聽 In high school,
teachers were usually very accessible, and I could easily ask for help.
College is different. Professors usually have office hours once a week,
and if you have class during their office hours, you 鈥檙 e kind of out
of luck. So, YouTube has been my go-to for chemistry and calculus
help.聽 The Organic Chemist 聽 and 聽 patrickJMT 聽 are
phenomenal, and I should probably be paying them tuition 鈥?/li>
 I review material as the semester progresses, not a few days
before the test.聽 In college, most classes have a midterm or two
and a final that decide your grade. That means that each midterm
usually has 4 鈥? weeks of information covered on it. If you try to
study that much information in a few days, chances are you won
鈥檛 do too well. Therefore, review a little bit each week, and you'll
improve your retention and hopefully your exam grade.
