Verification Procedure for Shaft Vibration Sensors

Equipments Required :
A. Calibration Kit : VZ-35A
B. Multimeter

Procedure:

1.Install the sensor along with extension cable on the calibration kit by using M-10
connector
2. Check the -24 V DC input voltage at the proximeter terminal ( -24 V & COM)
3. Set the sensor on -10 V DC
4. Keep the kit is in Power OFF mode.
5. Set the screw gauge on the 0-0 position.
6. Now the display should read about 0 readings
7. Power on the kit (Before Power On check the power knob on 110VAC or 230VAC)
8. Rotate the knob to increase the speed of the calibration equipment used.
9. Rotate the screw gauge & check the AC mv rms signal on the multi meter. ( Refer the
table of mv RMS signal & the display readings)
10. Check the display readings as per the desired mv rms signal.
11. Check the current output from the monitor.
12. The sensor can be verified maximum upto 300 umpp(micron peak-peak) on the calibration
Kit.

Fill the data in the standard VERIFICATION PROTOCOL as given below.

Example Given Below is 0-800 umpp
Sensor Used: VL-202
Sensor Sensitivity: 7.87 mv/um

For 0-800umpp

1. Note: This is only Example using through VZ35 we can verify our Sensor till 300 micron only.
2. Note: In case of VM-55/VM701 monitor verification connect the contact type sensor on the
Contact type calibration kit used then only the loop will get completed & you will get the
Readings
