III.Objectives
At the end of the period, at least 70% of the students with at least 70% mastery level
should be able to:
1. State the Triangle Proportionality Theorem and its related theorems.
2. Apply the Triangle Proportionality Theorem and its related theorems.
3. State and apply the Triangle Angle-Bisector Theorem

1. What triangles are similar? Why?
2. How can you use the similarity to find the distance from X to P?
3. Compare XP to XR and YQ to YR. What conclusion/s can you draw?
Triangle Proportionality Theorem (Theorem 25).
If a line parallel to one side of a triangle intersects the other two sides, then it divides those
sides proportionally.
Corollary. If three parallel lines have two transversals, then they divide the transversals
proportionally.

Theorem 26 (Converse of Theorem 25).

If a line divides two sides of a triangle proportionally, then it is parallel to the third side of the
triangle.
Theorem 27.
Corresponding medians of similar triangles are proportional to the corresponding sides.
Theorem 28.
Corresponding altitudes of similar triangles are proportional to the corresponding sides.
Triangle Angle-Bisector Theorem (Theorem 29).
If a ray bisects an angle of a triangle, then it divides the opposite side into segments
proportional to the other two sides of the triangle.
Illustrative examples:
1. Complete each proportion. 2. Find the measures of the ff. 3. Are they proportion? Find
X AD=____ and write the
