Linear measurements
(a) Vernier caliper to measure length of slip gauge end standard
(b) (i) Screw gauge with end standard (slip gauge)
(ii) Screw gauge – for metric thread: to measure major diameter, minor
diameter with v-piece
(c) Screw thread micrometer: to measure effective diameter of metric thread
(d) Depth gauge: to measure the depth of a metallic sleeve
(a) Height gauge: to measure the height of a metallic sleeve
(b) Bore gauge; to measure the internal diameter of a sleeve
(c) Feeler gauge: to measure the tappet clearance of an engine
(d) Radius gauge: to check the radius of a fillet
(e) Thread pitch gauge: to check the pitch of a thread
(f) Profile projector: to measure(i) the major diameter , (ii) minor diameter,
(iii) thread angle and (iv) pitch of thread (v) circular pitch of a small gear
(g) Dial indicator: to use as comparator
(h) GO-NOGO gauge: to set the anvils of GO-NOGO gauge by end standard
(i) Tool Maker’s Microscope:
(1) To measure the pitch of thread
(2) To measure the Outer and Inner diameter of a small gear
(3) To measure flank wear
(j) Gear tooth vernier caliper: to measure chordal thickness
(k) Tangent comparator: to check gear tooth pitch of a spur gear

Angular measurement
(a) Angle gauge: (i) Calibrate readings of profile projector (ii)
(b) Profile projector: for Thread angle and Circular pitch of gear: Stated
above.
(c) Vernier Bevel protractor: to measure taper of tail stock center point angle,
drill point angle – sheet has be made
(d) Sine bar: to measure the taper of a tailstock center
Surface texture
(a) Optical flat: to estimate the texture of a slip gauge surface
Pocketsurf: to estimate the roughness of a machined surface

(i) Height gauge Give photo and make one sheet. What
(j) Bore gauge to measure? Take any object. But
(k) Feeler gauge

(o) Dial indicator use as comparator and GO-NOGO (same as Bore gauge)

Angular measurement
(e) Angle gauge – Give photo and calibrate it in profile projector; but say
that it is a standard for checking any angle measuring device.
(f) Vernier Bevel protractor – measure taper of tail stock center point angle,
drill point angle – sheet has be made
(g) Profile projector – thread angle – see sheet for thread
(h) TMM – we cannot measure angle in our TMM
(i) Sine bar for taper measurement
