Brief introduction to stadia

From the beginning of time , games have brought us together. Players and spectators .we built stadiums,
palces to gather around every kind of spectacle. Glory ,tragedy, community, rivalry and wonder. Until
every city, town and village had a palce where anyone could paly. Thousands of years later our games
have changed but our need to come together ramians. This new era of gaming needs a new place to
gather. One place where anything you dream can be built. Playgrounds for every imagination.one palce
where you and everyone you know they know will all play togather. One palce that nevers stops evoling,
where everyone can play and watch and creatfrom any screen at any time . one place for all the ways
we paly .this is stadia .gather round.

Google stadia is the google’s version for the future of games , where the worlds of watching and playing
games converge in to a new generation game platform ,purpose built for the 21st century , powered by
the best of google. Our versio of stadia is simple. One palce for all thw ways we play.its focused on
games, inspired by developers, and amplified bt the youtube creators. Today our industry captivates our
two billion palyers from all around the world. At the center of that community, its beating heart are the
game developers that people creat the most incredible game experience that delights players with
engrossing stories characters and worlds through a dazzling display technology, artistry and magic.
Games are the now simple biggest form of entertainment on the planet, one that connects a vast
community accrioss geopraphies , cultures and languages, and with in that passionate community there
is a universe of people who love playing games and there is a universe of people who love watching
games, hundreds of milluions of people watch gaming content every single day on youtube. But those
worlds are mostly disconnected fragments and ofthen independent of each other.. our vision is to bring
those worlds cloase together to connect game developers with palyers and youtube creator in a way
that only google can creating a richer and more vibrant gaming community for everyone to enjoy.
Through the power of our data centers, the extradinary reach and community of youtube. And our
investment in the fundimantals technology that are foundations of the open internet, weoffer a truly
unique opportunity to combine these worlds. We will be handling that extraordainary power of the data
center over to you, the game developers, where playgrounds for ever imagination can be created.our
first public test of tha came in October of the last year with project stream, where we streamed a Hd
game at up tpo 1080 p and 60 frames per second over the internet fromgoogle data centers to a
chrome browser. We were humbled by the overwhelmingly positive response from palyers who were
able to join us on project stream. With the help of ubisoft for trusting us with the latest incarnation of
their incredible game franchise, assassins creed. Assassins creed odyssey is the first game played by the
public on staidia. We know have the ability to take a sophisticated graphically intrest game and stream it
to chrome browser running on a simple laptop without any sacrifice to the quality or versions of the
gaming developers.

5.Stadia controller
google’s Stadia announcement laid out an ambitious plan to move the
gaming industry past pricy consoles and PCs toward the era of cloud
gaming. But while Stadia wants to kill the expensive hardware that’s
required to play today’s best games, it also wants to perfect the
device that allows gamers to venture into expansive virtual worlds:
the game controller.

The only physical component of Stadia (on the consumer side, at

least) will be a universal controller that is compatible across a number
of displays. Though its design is familiar, the Stadia controller will
feature unique buttons that have never been seen before, as well as
at least one Easter egg that’s already accessible.

At a glance, the Stadia controller seems like a fusion of a PlayStation

4 and Xbox One controller. Its soft, rounded edges resemble what you
will find with Microsoft’s console, but its side-by-side joystick
placement is identical to Sony’s DualShock 4. That gives the
impression that Google isn’t really trying to reinvent the wheel here,
but we won’t know for sure until it’s release.

2.What is google stadia ?

Stadia is a cloud gaming service operated by multinational technology company Google. According to
Google, it is capable of streaming video games in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second with support for
high-dynamic-range. It will be accessible through the company's Google Chrome web browser. The
service's integration with YouTube, and its "state share" feature which allows viewers of a Stadia stream
to launch a game on the service on the same save state as the streamer, has been used as a selling point
for the service. USB It is compatible with HID class controllers, though a proprietary controller
fmanufactured by Google with a direct Wi-Fi link to data centers will be made available alongside the
service. Known in development as Project Stream, the service was debuted through a closed beta
running Assassin's Creed Odyssey in October 2018, with a public release planned in late 2019. It is the
direct competitor to Sony Interactive Entertainment's PlayStation Now service, and Microsoft's Project
xCloud.

How Google Stadia works

The best bit about Stadia is that as long as you've got a stable and fast
internet connection, and you're using a recent version of the Google Chrome
browser, you've got everything you need to get up and running.

Playing a videogame on Stadia is as simple as opening a new tab up in

Chrome and going to the service's Stadia.com homepage, or even jumping
from a YouTube video link about the game.
To get started, Google will prompt you to run a connection test that checks
your internet bandwidth, the latency between your computer and the
servers, and any data loss. Google requires a streaming rate of 15Mbps,
latency below 40ms, and data loss below 5%. With these requirements met,
you’ll be ready to dive into a game.

The beta of Project Stream offered Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which is

nothing short of a demanding title. When you launched the game in your
Chrome tab, it would go fullscreen, and run exactly as if it has been
launched on a proper gaming computer (except without a deep graphics
settings menu). You can play with a keyboard and mouse or connect a game
controller and play that way.

Hardware requirements
Upon launch, Stadia's cloud hardware will initially use a custom Intel [4] x86 processor clocked at
2.7GHz, with AVX2 and 9.5 megabytes of L2+L3 cache.[5] It will also use a
custom AMD GPU with HBM2 memory, 56 compute units, and 10.7 teraFLOPS.[5] The service will
also have solid-state drive storage, support for 484 gigabytes of bandwith, and 16 gigabytes
of RAM shared between the GPU and the CPU.[5]

Software
Google Stadia is built on Linux servers and Vulkan is their graphics API.[6][7]
"This [Google Stadia] starts with our platform foundations of Linux and Vulkan and shows in our
selection of GPUs that have open-source drivers and tools. We’re integrating LLVM and DirectX
Shader Compiler to ensure you get great features and performance from our compilers and
debuggers."[6]

Development[edit]

Project Stream was Google's first announced sign of interest in video gaming products. The
company had previously been rumored as working on a service called Project Yeti since at least
2016. Google had also hired gaming industry executive Phil Harrison and was seen recruiting
developers during industry events in 2018.[8] Project Stream's main differentiator from past services,
such as OnLive, GeForce Now, and PlayStation Now, is its ability to run in any desktop Chrome
browser, rather than specific gaming platforms.[9] The service uses AMD Radeon graphics
hardware.[10] Google announced the service in October 2018[11] and soon after, opened invitations to
beta testers with access to Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Players could apply for access and those
who met an Internet speed minimum could run the game in their Chrome browsers.[12] Those who
participated received a free copy of the game when the beta expired.[13] Stadia was formally
announced during Google's keynote address at the 2019 Game Developers Conference in March
2019.[14] To support Stadia, Google also announced the formation of Stadia Games and
Entertainment, with Jade Raymond as its lead. Besides developing their own games, Stadia Games
and Entertainment will help support the transition of third-party titles to the Stadia service.[15]

Games[edit]
Three games are planned to launch on Stadia.[16] Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which was used in the
Project Stream test in October 2018 in 1080p resolution,[16] and id Software's Doom Eternal, are both
planned to launch with 4K resolution, 60 frames per second gameplay, and HDR support.[17][18] An
unannounced third game being developed by Q-Gameswill utilise the platform's "state share"
feature.[16] Doom (2016) was also demonstrated at GDC,
Initial Release
Google appears to be confident that Stadia will work just fine for users as
YouTube does. The reality could be different altogether. Google may be ready
to launch the service in the US and Europe by end of the year, but it is
impossible to stream video games over the internet in a country like India,
where the average download speed over a fixed broadband connection is
9.93Mbps. Even with a 25 Mbps download speed, we don’t know how much
data be used to stream games over the internet.

INTERNET CONNECTIVITY
Google is using its own compression technology to stream games in 1080p or
4K to devices, and some of the typical latency will be reduced by having the
game client and server on the same machine. Still, you’ll need a reliable and
active internet connection to access Stadia, and Google is recommending a
connection of “approximately 25 Mbps” for 1080p resolution at 60 fps.
