Check Task
Immediately check all emergency generators making sure all transfer switches inside
electrical rooms are engaged and energized. Provide spot check of any unusual engine
noise. (3-5 min)
Reset Chiller (HVAC system) on E power and other auxiliary equipment like med vac-air are
up and running (5min)
Call LADWP hotline 1(800)XXX-XXXX/XXXX or 1(800)XXX-XXXX
Ask for the following information
What caused the interruption? ________________________________________
Location? _________________________________________________________
Status and timeline? ________________________________________________
Contact name? ____________________________________________________
Call/notify the house supervisor providing info, gathered from LADWP. Notify Facility
manager/supervisor if not on site. Offer assistance to House Supervisor
Follow up call to LADWP

Notify House Supervisor of update
Once power is restored, verify all engines and transfer switches are back to normal and
auto position.
Notify House Supervisor that normal power has been restored
Check Task
Immediately check all emergency generators making sure all transfer switches inside
electrical rooms are engaged and energized. Provide spot check of any unusual engine
noise (3-5 min)
By identifying which engine is running either for South Tower or North Tower. Engineer on
duty will immediately identify which main breaker tripped either M1 or M2.
Assuming M1, (Shed all the load) Turn off ALL branch breaker under M1 or M2 inside
generator/electrical room (Tag out).
Notify House Supervisor. Ask what immediate assistance is needed.

Once the source of failure has been identified, ISOLATE the branch breaker.
Reset M1 or M2. One after another turn on all branch breakers EXCEPT the breaker at
fault.

Contact utility company (LADWP). 1(800)XXX-XXXX
Verify if power has been restored to our address/substation inside
Once confirmed, verify all ATS’s 1-4, electrical room, green indicator lights are on.
CRITICAL EQUIPMENT
Verify BMS system, pneumatic tube systems, all AHU’s North and South, all medical air
compressors, and vacuums are back on line.
Verify all ancillary equipment is back on line.
Contact House Supervisor/Manager that city power has been restored. Report any
equipment failures IMMEDIATELY to your supervisor for action plan.
