COUNTY OF Dallas BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority, on this day personally appeared the undersigned affiant who, after being duly swom by me, on oath stated: My name is Andrea L. Isom #9272 and I am a peace officer of the City of Dallas, Dailas County, Texas. I the affiant, have good reason and do believe that on or about the 21st day of June, 20 19, cone (name of suspect) Leo Ted Pintor_did then and there in the City of Dallas, Dallas County, Texas commit the offense of Capital Murder, a violation of Section 19.03 of the Texas Penal Code, a Capital Felony, Affiant’s belief is based upon the following facts and information which Affiant received from: {& Affiant’s personal investigation of this alleged offense. a , @ fellow peace officer of the City of Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, who personally participated in the investigation of this alleged offense, providing this information to Affiant, and whose information Affiant believes to be credible. On Friday, June 21, 2019, suspect Leo Ted Pintor committed the offense of capital murder, Texas Penal Code 19.03, Capital Felony against complainant Urania De Jesus and complainant Fredi Mercado. This offense occurred at 7414 B. Grand Avenue Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. ‘The facts of the offense are as follows: On Friday June 21, 2019, at about 2:59 a.m., a 911 call was made regarding multiple gunshots coming from an apartment residence at 7414 East Grand Avenue in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. A witness, who is known but will not be listed, observed a Hispanic male wearing a gray shirt kicking on the door to apartment HMshortly before hearing several gunshots. Dallas Police responded to the location and found two victims deceased inside of the apartment from gunshot wounds. Detectives later identified the deceased as complainant Urania De Jesus and complainant Fredi Mercado. Through investigation, Detectives determined that complainant De Jesus was going through a divorce with suspect Leo Ted Pintor. Suspect Pintor has a history of family violence with complainant De Jesus, an active protection order against him, and is known to have a firearm. Detective Andrea Isom #9272 spoke to family members of complainant De Jesus, who informed Detective Isom that suspect Pintor called around 5:58 a.m. and stated that he "messed up" and asked family members to take care of his children, Dallas Police Fugitive Unit officers began looking for suspect Pintor who had outstanding traffic warrants. Detective Isom received information from a citizen who lives in the neighbouring apartment complex that had Ring doorbell surveillance video available. The surveillance video captured a male in a gray shirt, tan shorts, with white shoes. Dallas Police Fugitive Officers located suspect Pintor at a residence located a GENS D2lls, Texas. Suspect Pintor was wearing a gray shirt a pair of shorts, and white shoes. Suspect Pintor got into a white pickup truck and fled the location. Suspect Pintor was later apprehended by Dallas SWAT officers at 510 Willomet Avenue in Dallas, Texas. Detectives were later provided with another surveillance video that was timestamped about 40 minutes before the shooting, which shows what appears to be suspect Pintor wearing the same clothing from the Ring doorbell video. In the second surveillance video, the suspect can be seen holding what appears to be a handgun. Detective Isom spoke to a family member of complainant De Jesus. The relative spoke to suspect Pintor by phone, and suspect Pintor said that he was sorry for what he did to complainant De Jesus and that he wanted to commit suicide. Suspect Pintor was transported to Dallas Police Headquarters where he did not provide any kind of statement.
