An Entry for Best ICT Innovation

Pursuant to the Regional Memorandum No.

482, series 2017 Re: 1st Regional DepEd ICT
Summit 2017 with a theme: Digital Transformation
for the KID (Kto12 + ALS, ICT, DepEd) Aplaya
Elementary School responded the call for
participation to its Division Search for ICT Best
Practices to showcase the ICT Innovations and best
pratices implemented in the school. The search was
divided into five categories namely: ICT for
Teaching and Learning, ICT for Governance, ICT
for Child Protection, ICT for Interactive SIMs and
ICT for ICT (Learning Action Cells) LACs
Sessions. This summit aims: to update ICT
practitioners in DepEd on emerging technologies;
start the culture of sharing and collaborating of ICT
in teaching, learning and governance; provide a forum to update everyone on current ICT projects
and implementations in DepEd as well as future plans; and recognize ICT best projects and
implementers.

Aplaya ES successfully bagged the Best Practices in ICT for SLAC Sessions and
represented the Division of Misamis Oriental in the Regional ICT Summit held at Grand Caprice,
Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City last November 20-21, 2017.

The region-wide ICT Best Innovation Practices attended by all Division Participants in the
entire Region X. The Division of Misamis Oriental was represented by the following schools and
school heads:
ICT for Teaching and Learning - GLOREEN ALEJANDRINO
Sugbongcogon National High School

ICT for Governance - JOEY ORALE

Medina National Comprehensive High School

ICT for Child Protection - LENNETH ABROGUEÑA

The competition was very critical and directive to its purpose of presenting a valid and
sustainable ICT program and project implemented in the school. The panels were very particular
of the schools ICT projects and its documented actions. Aside from the video presentations, all
school heads were given the chances to express
their side of elaborating the presentations.
At the end of the last day, Aplaya
Elementary School with the presentor, Reynaldo
Vega Magan, victoriously brought home the pride
when he bagged the 3rd Place as the Best ICT
Innovation in School LAC Sessions.He received a
trophy and certificate of recognition as a proof of
the product from the efforts and exagerated time
spent by the teachers and the school itself.
